It was alteady boring. We had 1 or 2 push weeks, and all the other weeks were trash
its either no other players, or a group of 12 of the opposing faction. Warmode really has made a mess of world pvp.
You are too late to the season. Wait until the next.
Or is this just one of those “It’s dying because my little personal slice isn’t to my liking” thread?
Not for me. I always enjoyed the bad weeks, especially tank heavy affixes like sanguine and necrotic. It was always a fun mini game of managing stacks and mob positioning.
I also never really minded having push weeks and bad weeks. I enjoyed going hard 1 week and getting 3 weeks off just doing laid back keys for vault.
This game is dying for one reason: The playerbase is terrible. The game itself is better than its been in over 10+ years with DF. The issue is that most regular people left during SL and many did not return.
Being better than the past 10+ years isn’t saying much when your comps are also more relevant than ever.
WoW lacks diversity in its activity type. The 3 pillars are tired and boring for those that have already voted with their wallets and marched on to a competing product.
My sub lapses in 19 days because Mythic+ is boring, Raiding is overrated, and PvP is inaccessible and severely outdated. I’ve been enjoying my very limited free time in GW2 instead.
In GW2, PvP is accessible from day 1 because all gear is normalized. I’m able to participate in numerous meaningful activities and play through content from over a decade ago and the work put in still be meaningful today…unlike WoW where anything done in Chromie Time while leveling is made completely obsolete the moment you’re phased out of it and dumped into latest expac…it’s such a stupid system.
There’s so much more to do in that game than WoW for those who do NOT enjoy repeating the same dungeons 20 million times or running some raid instanced PVE content.
WoW devs have some serious work to do in revamping what it means to be an MMORPG in 2023 or they’ll eventually face maintenance mode like all games before it. The mentality is just super outdated and most of us don’t care about long raid processes but rather enjoy shorter more accessible content that gives you more immediate results and rewards.
“No king rules forever blah blah blah”
It’s not up to paying customers to come to a consensus. It’s up to Blizzard to research what their customer base wants to pay for and find ways to meet that demand.
Because the appearance is that each time the population seems sparser.
While this maybe the case, I’m talking about old content, where I rarely see levelers, in warmode or not. The only players I see in leveling content are max levels doing old achievements. I think it’s a bad sign that I am no longer seeing players leveling in old content. And I don’t think it means that 100% of players are now leveling in dungeons.
“It’s slowing down because I see fewer players than in previous content lulls” is a perfectly legitimate observation.
You do realize this is a normal between patch lull right.
We are probably a month away from 10.2 and the new raid /m+ season .
I think the average M+ / raids participation last about 2-3 months after the season release after that it drops, its nothing new
M+ and raiding aren’t all there is to the game. A lot of people spend the late part of seasons, or even the entire second half of the expansion, just leveling alts or doing other content. Personally I do mostly solo casual content or old world content. I don’t honestly think the queues for current content have ever been an accurate gauge of how active the game is
And when 10.2 drops the same bad actors claiming the game is dead will be complaining about log in queues because its so busy lol.
Every expac, every season, every major patch since TBC.
‘‘It’s between patch lull right’’
‘’ It’s a holiday’’
‘’ it’s end of summer’’
Bad actors? That seems to be a term amongst people without a normal retort.
And wanna bet we don’t have a queue and 10.2 doesn’t bring back the people who took a break or left WoW. We are in a raid logging expansion and probably moving forward… this games retention isn’t going to be as busy as you think it’ll be.
Give it a week or so and it’ll be empty again.
M+ is a bad game mode. No one is playing it because it sucks. Sprinting down preordained paths, doing top-down issued builds and rotations, it the same old dungeons, with group criteria making for the least difficult run is not fun.
It gets old fast. It has no soul.
It’s just end of season lull. Until next season kicks off I just don’t have any incentive to log in. Maybe I run a 16 key or better just to get a roll on the vault, but if not, don’t care much either.
You say that like it is exclusive to M+…while you really describe running dungeons throughout the history of this game.
Many (most) players have always used the optimal paths, when there was actually an option. Many (most) of us have always used the optimal builds/rotations based on theorycrafting and sims. And the META classes have always been popular when putting together groups.
What? OP is saying the game is dying? Did he smoked something?
LOL
There won’t be ANY real log in ques when the next patch drops.
Not even close.
There just isn’t enough public enthusiasm nor money to make it actually happen.
There aren’t enough luxury yachts in this case.
Wow has been dying wince wotlk ie less subs. Game still has enough players for most things apart from pvp queues, do its fine.
