Future Allied Races

There’s also the Drakonids, too.

And much like Pandaria, you don’t really need to have had much experience with a race to have them show up as playable.

I don’t know if Blizzard will ever do allied races again but if they do, I would really like saberon for the Horde.

They share a skeleton with worgen and it was mentioned in the Mag’har recruitment scenario that they fled to the Northern Barrens.

Only allied race I would like to see is Mok’nathal. I believe Rexxar is using a similar rig to the male Kul’tiran’s so just repurpose the Kul’tiran rigs.

I’ll take bi-ped tree folk.

I really want blizz to add a vrykul skin to either humans or kul’tiran now that would be cool

Give me Tuskarr or give me death.

Not that I am against customization, but literally none of those are races (several of them also make 0 sense). They are more glorified customization options just like ~all of the rest of the allied “races.”

They need to add actual new playable races as allied races and stop passing off customization options as races :man_facepalming:

Horde

  • Ogres
  • Hozen

Alliance

  • Jinyu/ankoan
  • Arakkoa

Neutral

  • tortollan
  • tuskarr
  • Tol’vir

It’s unfortunate how blizzard implemented allied “races” and it’s kind of too late to go back and have it done properly/correctly

personally i don’t think these need to be a new race rather a new costumization for both Kul’tirans and Stormwind.

just saying, i am ok with adding a new human race with new voice lines and abilities to show other playable human kingdoms in Azeroth however the skinny humans should be on both sides infact i think we should have the fat, skinny, muscular human model on both the Kultiras and Storwind humans and if we add new humans they should have distictive fitures to show that they are from another kingdom just like Kultirans and Storwind are.

i think this would be interesting sense right now Wildhammers are just a costumization in the Iron Forge Dwarfs so i think it would be nice to see new Dwarfs with new abilities tied to Flying mounts and such sense the Wildhammers specialties are on the Griffon Riding.

i have always wanted to play a Lepper Gnome on the horde side to be honest feeling cast out by their own people because Lepper Gnomes are mostly sick undead Gnomes, but i suppose it would be better if the Lepper Gnome would get help from their own people and just be on the Alliance side (though personally i wanted them on the Horde side)

if we get a Emerald Dream expansion or a huge Update with a few new zones to the Emerald Dream i could see this happening, specially if the Emerald Dream somehow becomes connected to Ardenweald, if the Satyr can only see the result of what their blind action lead too when they where on the Legion side maybe they could have a change of heart or something and maybe they could change to resemble close to the Fauns from Ardenweald. (with that we get playable Fauns sense the Fauns are a race from the Shadowlands they are pretty much not mortals.)

being honest when it comes to Satyrs i am a bit confused when it comes to their lore but i think blizzard can come up with something if they want to make Satyrs playable.

(i would welcome it)

hands down i got no argument i wanted them in the Alliance just as much as i want Ogres in the Horde and i don’t know why they haven’t been playable yet.

soo much yes but i think it would be better if the Scythe Worgen join the horde sense in their actual lore they where basically frown upon for braking a rule of not going feral, instead have the Nightborn help them join the Horde.

and instead of having Tyrande trying to convince them to join the Alliance we could have Thalyssra help them join the horde sense the Druids of the Scythe had pretty much similar experience as the Nightborn did and if Tyrande tried to get them to join they would decline because their own people pretty much abandon them to a almost eternal sleep.

feeling cast out by their own people they would rather join a faction that won’t discriminate them. (or feel like they are going to get discriminated for their actions in the past.)

i could see this happening if the whole thing starts from the Dragonmaw clan, having to try to fix their reputation they could try to help these fel orc recover their lost honor sense they are hated for having Demon blood in them and the Dragonmaw are hated for what they did to the Red Dragonflight.

the Dragonmaw would feel like they would help other Orcs that want to restore their honor and to use the Demon blood to do good for the Horde (we could get playable Demon hunter Orcs from them), we could have the Dragonmaw and the Bleeding Hollow try to help these Fel Orcs sense Bleeding Hollow specialize in things like dark arts and such and the Dragonmaw are a clan trying to restore their lost honor.

yes, and like the Ogres and the Broken i don’t see why they have not been implemented in the game yet.

i think it would be cool if we get to travel to Northerend again with Baineblood hoof to see if the Taunka would like to join the horde sense the whole event of the shadowland have lead for the Scourge to be more rampant (because they have no leader)

so we could just have the horde help the Taunka fight off different Scourge clans undead clans form after the fall of Zovaal in the Shadow Lands.

like i said in the Taunkas, i think it would be pretty cool if get to go back to Northerend because of the event of the Shadowland made the Scourge go rampant on Northerend and this created several undead clans ruled by different but powerful undead leaders and in this process we could have the new Skeletons race join the Horde.

and have the Ghost Spectrals Join the Alliance because we have Night elfs ghost in the Broken isles whatever happen to that?? i think it would be really cool if we get a spectral race that can have both NightElf and Humans apperance, like have the Ghost Elf from the Broken isles join the Alliance and with their help we could unlock the human ghost form from Northerend as a costumization)

Highelfs, but these new Highelf have more power connection to the Arcane Magic and they can start from the Dragon isles, Elfs that swear to help the Blue Dragons in protecting the Arcane arts sense they form a new deeper connection to the arcane power, they could be on both the Alliance and the Horde.

no arguments here i totally agree with this specially if they can be neutral and join both factions, we need a Aquatic playable race like a long time ago.

actually i think it could work if someday we manage to travel to Alt.Dreanor.

new Saberon race that became more tamed because of the Light but decide to join the Alliance because they never wanted to abandon their wild side but at the same time love the Light.

just saying, i could see it work if their lore is written correctly…

How about allied races that aren’t blatant reskins of existing races? :flushed:

I like fringe allied races like Mechagnomes, Void Elves and Vulpera. But Blizzard didn’t have to pay a dime to make cheap knock offs of existing races. They just flipped a switch! Make allied races with unique characteristics and skeletal frames please! Stop being lazy! :dracthyr_nod:

If we are talking about allied races, we ARE talking about low effort reskins. That’s my point. But the good thing about them is that they can come in bulk. Some of those I said are different enough and sensical enough to work, but only as allied races. Although like I said, I would like to talk about core races in a different place. For me I really want Ogres, Ethereals, Jinyu, and Arakkoa.

Agree. Kul Tirans and Mechanomes really showed how wrong allied races can go.

We need Ogres. Jinyu. Or SOMETHING unique.

We also need to stop adding new classes with EXTREME race restrictions. Why add new races if they can’t play new classes? It forces me to replace my beloved characters…or not.

Dude I made it very clear. What you want are core races. Allied races are customization options for the core races. I’m down to talk about core races. But I think the way allied races worked before could still work, allowing for a distinction between them and the core races we both want.

Then those wouldn’t be allied races, they would be core races, Void Elf :flushed:

allied races are supposed to be races that, through their encounters with the horde and alliance, choose one side (or both). I am all for customization for “core races” (core races being races that have been around pretty much from launch, with a few exceptions). Having said that:

  • fat/skinny/tall humans =/= new race
  • brown orcs =/= new race
  • tattooed draenei =/= new race
  • tauren with antlers =/= new race
  • gnomes with robot parts =/= new race
  • slightly different trolls =/= new race
  • slightly different dwarves =/= new race
  • most every “new allied race” suggestion I see =/= new race

The way allied races should have been done is a revamp to the character creation screen.

  1. you select a race
  2. you get a drop-down list of what kind of that race you would like to make.
  • Example: I pick dwarf.
  • I get to then select between Bronzebeard, Wildhammer or Dark Iron. More could be added in the future were they to add stoneborn, frostborn, etc…
  1. customize characters as you normally would (hair color, style, etc…) and then each one would have special/exclusive customization options based on chosen type. Per my example Dark iron dwarves would have a lot of fire/lava/soot/metal options, wildhammers would have feathers, lightning etc…

This then gets done for every race.

The racials would largely stay the same, but maybe some racials get very slight tweaks or some “flavor” racials get added (like the kul’tiran punch ability for example) thus keeping racial customizations largely/purely cosmetic.

We dont need more allied races, period!

The whole allied race thing is a pimple on the face of WoW. The only thing necessary to play any race in WoW should be a live sub, and you then pick one on the character creation screen. That’s it.

With how blizzard chose to implement them, I would have to agree.

Have to disagree here. If the races that get added have some logic/rationale behind it then it’s less of a big deal.

I’ll use the Tuskarr as an example.

Both the horde and the alliance have, for multiple expansions, had dealings with them (pretty much positive across the board afaik) so wouldn’t it kind of make sense for the Tuskarr to want to join us (playable by both factions as the pandaren are)?

Same could be said for a lot of other races where, over time and with repeated interactions, would also see some merit in joining. Maybe not all, as some might want to jsut stay on the sidelines, but some.

Fine, I have no objection to races being added. Add the Tuskarr if that’s a fun race to play.

But just add it as a race. Not an Allied race that requires a raftload of grinding to be able to play it.

There should be some requirements for unlocking the races, but I agree that it shouldnt rise to a burdensome level. Some kind of quest line/scenario tied to the faction embassies that take maybe 1-2 hours to finish that involve some kind of event(s) transpiring the finally give rise/reason to a race wanting to join the alliance, horde (or both) and maybe the requirement of like, honored or revered reputation.

If you make a new race, you do that in a starter zone for that race which provides a degree of story relating to that race. Its a lot more for races like Worgen, Demon Hunter, Goblin and Pandaren, but the time consumption is after you actually make it.

I agree, I don’t particularly mind a bit of RP put into creating the race. I don’t agree that a reputation should be a requirement - reputation can be earned once you make that character. You are a player making a character, you aren’t approaching the faction for the right to do that…which would be weird.

So sure, if you had to go to Northrend and do an hour’s questing to make the character and learn a bit about it’s story, that wouldn’t be too onerous. But beyond that…we don’t really need to prove to any faction that we have the right to make a character of that race.
