My guess it that a âLightforgedâ Night Elf would essentially be the same as those affected by the Night Warrior ritual, but this time invoking Eluneâs more healer-leaning Mother Moon aspect (the Night Warrior being their âVoidforgingâ). And I donât see that happening for quite some time (if ever, in the future of WoW), when the Night Elves are in a better place, secure and stable.
Drudic magic ABSOLUTELY does not confer immortality, thatâs a thousand percent certain as of Mists of Pandaria. The Night Elves had no alternative save the Dragon Aspects to become immortal, to that end they attempted to dig through Pandaria to acquire a fabled fountain of Youth.
Of course it wasnât all it was cracked up to be, the Pools could make you immortal yesâŚfor the price of someone else. They transferred life, rather then extended it. Drust magic seems to clearly tap into necromancy, or if it is a form of drudic magic it is one that is alien to the other races.
Lightforged Night Elves would be pretty stupid IMO.
honestly, I think Lightforged should be specifically a Draenei thing. I mean⌠Why would any race subject themselves to being Lightforged when they donât worship the Light/Naaru?
And if we went and made something âMoonforgedâ Which is kind of what Night Elves are already, there should also be a distinction between that and Lightforged. Because honestly, I think Elune being a Naaru is the worst theory out there for the cultural identify of Night Elves.
Itâs like âHey, you know this thing that defines your race? Yeah, itâs not what you thought, and it actually a Draenei thing.â
No thanks.
That confirms nothing⌠Night Elves are the longest lived race behind Draenei⌠They also happen to be the most Druidic race.
Iâm not sure how Night Elves scraping through Mogu ruins to find a font of immortality due to how badly they are coping with mortaldom doesnât confirm they didnât have another source of immortality available.
Immortality is not relevant, they still live thousands of years without a source of immortality.
Well yeah, but thatâs Elves in general.
Blood Elves live for thousands of years, and they are definitely not druids. Not unless thereâs some kind of like, druid radiation that has seeped into elf kind that naturally confers the benefits of long life.
They used to be Trolls⌠So explain to me how the managed to extend their lives?
The Same way Rhastakhan did? Through dealings with a Loa? A Nature God? Druidic magic? Hmmmmmm
They are decedents from a Race that is the Chosen of Elune and Cenarius.
I assumed it was because of the Well of Eternity mutating them that they had enhanced lifespans.
I mean yeah.
Iâm pretty sure the GIANT WHIRLPOOL OF AZEROTHS LIFEBLOOD probably had something to do with it.
Maybe, but considering Night Elf Souls are literally nature spirits that are bound to the Emerald Dream, making them the only race that is free from the Shadowlands just by the virtue of their race, it telling.
See above.
Sure, but Night Elves arenât the only Elves to exist. Blood Elves and Nightborne donât become wisps when they die, nor do they practice any drudic traditions.
You know what they all have in common though? Wells.
Wellâs of Eternity, Moonwells, Sunwells, Nightwells, lotta Wells going around and said Wellâs are responsible for their physical mutation from Trolls. The raw arcane fix that altered them on a genetic level is a pretty clear tie to where their long life comes from.
I donât really know much about night elf lore so I can only guess, but Iâd think that the lifespans and how their spirits are treated after death could be separate phenomena. Thereâs already examples of arcane magic being used to extend someoneâs natural lifespan, and given that the change from troll to night elf was caused by the well, I think it seems logical to me that it would be the reason for longer life as well.
Yet, all elves are decedents of Night Elves, who are the chosen of Elune and her Son.
Night Elves
Not necessarily. Despite this, Night Elves are significantly longer lived than other elves.
Maybe, but that doesnât change the fact that their souls are tied to the Emerald Dream.
We also see Balance Druids wielding the Arcane, so this could be Druidic magic as well. It would make sense, considering Moon Wells are made from the remaining waters of the Well of Eternity, and often used in cleansing rituals similarly to nature and holy magic.
Moon Well Water is uniquely Arcane, Holy and Nature based.
Neither race is the chosen of Elune or her son now are they? They became something different in isolation, no longer revering Mother Moon in favor of the Sun and the Arcane. Logically if they werenât stripped of that boon like every other Night Elf trait they once had, then it should of worked itâs way out of their system at some point.
Meanwhile the arcane fix was never cut, and their long life continued just as it had before.
I mean, technically Nightborne art Night Elves by birth. And Blood Elves are their decedents.
Except shorter.
Nightborne are no longer true Night Elves, they mutated a long time ago into their own race as they were cut off by both the Sun and the Moon.
Also are Blood Elf and Nightborne lifespans shorter then Night Elf ones? All I remember of the exile is that they were stripped of immortality, but we donât know if their lives are actually shorter then what a Night Elf without the blessing of immortalities is.
They were still born as Night Elves.
By a good 6,000 years, yes.
A good number of them arenât anymore, and at this point Nightborne children had to have arcane introduced into their baby formula.
Can I have a source on the shortened age?
The older ones still⌠Who, by the way, have longer lifespans than those born under the shield.
Warcraft Encyclopedia say that all elves lives âA few thousand yearsâ But 3,800 is considered ancient by High Elf standards. Meanwhile, Night Elves, and pre-sundering borne Nightborne live âAt least 10,000 yearsâ
