And 2 hander was never good except when it was massively overtuned, and it didnt last long to get nerfed to the ground and when it was decent it was for the first tier of a xpac then dual wild scaling left 2 hander eating dust.
For the majority of time dual wild was better. And the only reason 2 hander was good for pvp is because yhou could empower rune weapon chain 4 obliterates and kill someone in a 4 second window.
Iâll cut through the wall of text and just point this out.
Youâre good at spinning things, but I see you.
Thank you for the thorough reply.
I agree completely.
And what context is missing from that quote? Maybe its because of the design of Frost and how 2h was implemented? I would rather have a better spec than to shoehorn a weapon in because people people complained they didnt have the option for years. So yes, let it die. If its causing problems and each âfixâ comes with another problem somewhere else then yeah, they should ignore it.
You say its spinning, but its you spinning what I actually said. Taking one quote out of that entire thread to push your narrative is yet another thing wrong with your side. Im not going around just saying âlook you guys keep saying remove DWâ and just providing a quote with something out of context.
Ok.
Frost in general during Wrath wasnât really played otuside of the odd DWer or Tank. It was good at mitigating physical damage and DW was a strong choice at the tail end of ICC but it didnât matter by that point. Virtually everybody was either Blood or Unholy. Diseaseless Blood was strong early on and Unholy was strong for the entire xpac. Blood was strong as long as you had ArP.
In ICC, everybody who was actually clearing content was Unholy because of Shadowmourne.
Which sub spec of Frost was stronger is largely irrelevant. The indisputable fact of the matter is that DW Frost virtually did not exist prior to 3.2
It really isnt if dual wield was better 80% of the time, that pretty much make teh spec dual wield with a weaker variant for flavor
Except for the fact that DW wasnât even actually supported for the first entire tierâŠ
Ugh
Why not just redesign the spec for both of those weapon choices, 2h or DW?
I mean should the weapon choice really matter at this point? MotFW is back and right now, it seems like it is used as a Runeforge that has never existed for DW but with weapon swing downsides.
Can both coexist and coequally viable that is competitive in all forms of content with all the stealth nerfs reverted like DS PvP nerfs or make BoS, CH damage more noticeable rather than deleting them with 70% damage reduction in PvP?
⊠With making Frost competitive in a burst meta?
2% for 2H is miniscule. Itâs nice. But itâs miniscule. 100 extra damage on 5k Obliterates for my Venthyr DK. Yay. <_>
Context matters.
They could have just made 2h a transmog option unless its just absolutely impossible with the system (though its not) and then worked on the spec and been done with it. The talent system is supposed to be the thing to change things up a bit.
Frost needs a freaking rework, not only a buff. Weâre just weaker warriors.
Look at the arenamate ladder
- ![Priest] âDisciplineâ)](11.9% (1191)
- ![Paladin]âHolyâ) 11.6% (1161)
- ![Mage]âFireâ)] 9.9% (992)

- ![Rogue][![Subtlety] 6.6% (663)
- ![Paladin][Retribution]6.0% (605)
- ![Monk][![Windwalker] 5.3% (527)

Weâre not even on the spec chart. Neither as frost or unholy. Why would anyone invite a DK to a team instead of a warrior or a laser chicken?
We bring nothing to the table compared to them
When I first saw the Jailer with the frostmourne runes I thought âfinally, maybe they will change some dk gameplayâ, but weâre nerfed as hell and we have the same boring things since cataclysm.
Take another look at the 4 horsemen. In the art from hearthstone which is probably the most recent both Darion and Thoras have 2H. Nazgrim has what looks to be a 2H axe and Sally has a staff. Iâm not saying that the death knights from the past generations didnât DW but the current generation which I believe is the 4th generation now is predominantly 2H.
in the opening quests for the shadowlands expansion darion is dual wielding slayer of the lifeless again
I guess he does both, in the artwork heâs wielding the corrupted ashbringer.
Tbh I havenât seen many people be anti-DW. Every anti-DW person Iâve come across is in response to someone crying about 2h being a thing at all.
Most people want both subspecs to be fully viable and competitive.
See, my point is that shouldnât be the case at all: there should be no Anti-2h or Anti-DW. People should be happy with whatever weapon they choose and people should be happy for other peopleâs choices.
If not, ALL people should want both subspecs to be viable and competitive. Same thing can be said for specs for all classes I guess⊠But anyone who doesnât and just disagrees is just biased and does not necessarily have a healthy mindset for the game.
I mean seriously, why not keep them both and try to keep em balanced? I know Blizzard wouldnât but itâs ultimately in their discretion and ours too. :L
Right now is the round 2 as to if Blizz can successfully balance 2h and DW. If blizz fails then I think they will make frost DW only, maybe with 2h as a transmog option.
Except this is a completely positive attitude you have! So many people quite literally just do not want other people to enjoy something that they themselves do not enjoy.
I mean, just look at how many people in general forums are calling for M+ to be removed completely lol instead of asking it to be tuned or modified or an alternate be made.
I mean they could make the argument that itâs about resource management; that if you remove DW or 2H, whatever, then more resources can be allocated to make the one path better or more balanced compared to other specs overall. This isnât usually what I hear though heh.
i donât understand the hate for either one. i like both. both are fun.
