Just admit it, you are not a person of your word, you do not follow what you said you would when you clicked on that “Accept” button. Its ok, its painfully obvious from reading your comments that this is the case anyway, might as well just own it.
apologies mister, misunderstood your direction and thats my fault. I play almost exclusively with friends so i’m not sure exactly your predicament. Likely posting in trade will be able to find you a cozy normal raiding guild. Normal currently is quite easy (exception for silken court) and as long as roster permitting i would imagine that might be your best bet. theres a couple external resources such as raiderio, wcl, and discord that might make it a bit easier to find people raiding at times you can make though.
Try a less extreme path for a bit: play dps while you learn routes and pull pacing. As you have experienced, people get nasty with tanks doing ‘on the job training.’
There’s also a tank path / pull addon, although I’m drawing a blank on the name.
Honestly as long as certain expectations are met regarding common sense and a level of skill in WOW everything else is almost irrelevant in my opinion.
Nobody wants to wait for someone spending 30 mins before boss pull talking strategy, watching videos and coordinating things when it is painfully obviously what needs to be done in far less time.
Everyone is ok if someone asks a few questions and clarify things before a pull in under 5 minutes.
dont take this the wrong way but have you ever considered creating that type of guild? i always see so many posts like this that say they are searching for a friendly guild that allows mistakes, there should be plenty of likeminded type of people you are searching for to join that guild if u create it
i think a lot of people have no idea how much it actually takes to complete some of the higher end content in the game so they think its just something you can walk into and when they find out its not they cant come to terms with the fact that maybe they just arent good enough for that type of content.
It’s fine. I have admittedly become pretty jaded after years of searching for that “forever home”. Hearing “just find a guild” gives me a bit of a tic for that reason. Many of us have no doubt been trying.
Since I came back to the game recently I’ve turned down dozens of mass-invite guilds because I don’t think I’m going to find a community in one of those, but lately I’ve been wondering if perhaps I’m being too picky and snooty. After all I’m nothing special so maybe that’s the kind of group I’m worthy of.
At least the game seems to respect solo players a bit more though so worst case scenario, at least we have that.
I’ve always been wary of them as well. Mass invite guilds usually arent the best communities in my experience. Try them out if you will, but make sure theyre atleast accepting of you joining whatever content it is you’re interested in. M+ is quick to form cliques and raiders lose spots or arent accepted all the time. It’s tough.
I’ve had moments where power has been thrusted upon me. It turns out very badly for everyone involved.
Most recently I ended up costing the family a thousand dollars because of a terrible decision I made, and I had to basically be rescued by people far smarter than me. I barely trust myself to pick a dinner now, let alone anything like managing people or anything else even the tiniest bit important.
Cope with what exactly? I feel bad for players who have your attitude. I generally don’t have to cope with that. I know it hurts the content though. All these complaints on the forums about M+. Well, look at the community it created. Not good. It’s on the decline, yet people like yourself are clearly gating it, essentially saying “zero mistakes”, and confusing what a carry is to begin with.
Dealing with a mistake is not carrying. Carrying is when somebody doesn’t pull their weight consistently. Learning involves mistakes, and if you don’t like that, play with only people who you know. Don’t expect everyone pugging to be perfect. That’s silly.
cliques in guilds are the worst thing ever to deal with. a lot of people think joining a guild is sunshine and rainbows but in my expierence some of the worst kinds of people are in guilds and are protected by guild leaders/officers
