Friend got silenced in game for being afk

I literally gave you a link to where silence/squelching has been clarified.

If you want to bury your head in the sand and pretend otherwise I can’t help you.

If only. But this isn’t a new controversy by far. It’s sadly not changing.

Your link is false because it has been proven multiple times to be false by Asmongold, now go be a Blizzard teachers pet somewhere else.

Ironic coming from the person who obviously has an addiction to the bald mans boot leather

I don’t care about Asmongold, but he proved a point, he demonstrated the flaw in front of 20k people and you did not, you’re just a teachers pet.

And again, this is not correct any longer. It has all changed. This is referencing how the automated system wrongfully banned people for a month.

Automated report algorithm bans player. Automated support algorithm upholds ban. If it’s a silence for a couple of days I doubt there’s even a real person involved in the process anymore. I really want to believe I’m wrong but…

It got really bad during the mount promo with people mass reporting suspected retail players coming through.

Two of my guildies got hit within 20min in the DK starting zone, lol. They all got reversed, but by then they were already done with Classic.

Your link literally says that someone will review the data to see if more action is warranted. They only block honor gain from AFK reports.

Yes. After they were automatically banned for a month.

After a full on community backlash and Streamers making public streams about the problem.

It’s a PR response, not an actual safeguard in the system. Blizzard got caught and had to backtrack.

Uh huh thays why you keep bringing him up right :dracthyr_crylaugh:

He demonstrated a failsafe system that not only most multiplayer games have but also most Social media sites and forums have as well too act as a damage control till moderators can get through all the other reports that they have to go through

Sure. But it’s silly to claim account actions are automatic and then post an explanation where they explain that bans are not automatic to support your argument.

All he did was prove that the squelch system exists.

And Blizzard has never denied that it has existed. That thread I linked literally has people saying that squelches are automated. Blizzard has come out and said that squelches are automated.

Silences are not automated. Functionally there’s no difference, but even in the video where Asmongold ‘proved’ there was an automated system, the message he got specifically said ‘Your chat and mail privileges have been suspended pending GM review’ which is the message you get when your account is squelched.

This has been confirmed, multiple times, going back years. It’s not news, it’s not a scandal, most people are mature enough to understand that.

You seem to be misunderstanding. People were in AV defending or or ran off for a moment to get their quest and suddenly found themselves kicked from game with a month long ban.

They said nothing of the sort. They simply said they will go back and review them AFTER they were already automatically banned.

No. And you are ignoring the AV automatic bans for a month. The system changed. Please understand that.

Damage control? It’s literally the opposite effect. People use this system to punish people they don’t like, sometimes GM’s don’t really look into it, there’s another streamer who received an automated message after making a ticket about an appeal. You think it’s cool for people to not play the game for days because of some trolls who report you? I don’t know why you defend this system. Because it probably never happened to you, that’s why.

They said (from your own post)

Per Blizzard, the only automatic behavior is a debuff.

And that is not what happened. You seem to be ignoring that.
