ya… no…
Everytime I bring up fresh most of what I hear from my guild is that they would quit.
would some suck it up and stay? sure…
but I would definitely bet money on that MORE people would quit over fresh, than would quit over progression.

Just like everyone who wasn’t going to play if we got layering
yes cuz they are the exact same people.
wow
No. Release both. That is the true path.
Wrong, some of us actually do.
It’s not thrown out the window if there are character copies to TBC servers. And besides aren’t you going to keep getting BiS and raiding on your Vanilla warrior?
Vanilla Warrior is OP. I’m going for DPS BiS and full T3.
Just make a new character, what is the exact problem here?
Forcing everyone to start fresh will piss a lot of people off. Both options should exist.
Are we not talking about fresh servers here? They’re not fresh if they have copied 60s on them.
How is that a bad thing?
How is having the option of fresh servers and progressed servers a bad thing?
I assume you have no special titles or mounts. Good raiding gear will also make leveling much, much easier.
It breaks the promise we were made to have Classic as a museum piece. That Blizzard wanted people to play classic for the love of classic and no other reason.
Nothing from classic should carry over. Promises made should be kept.
How? There will still be Classic servers.
I’m even of the opinion that there should be a couple fresh ones for Classic.
When did they promise that?
Its heavily implied all throughout the development of Classic. They’ve stated that Classic should be its own thing, that they want people playing classic because they love classic. Not because they want to carry things forward into retail. The logical extension is that also applies to TBC. People should be playing Classic because they love Classic, not because they want to carry it forward into TBC. They should want to play TBC because they love TBC, not because they want to carry it into Wrath, etc.
Each “Classic” expansion is best served by being its own ecosystem. Isolated from the rest so you get players who want to play that game forming communities with each other. Much better community quality that way.
“heavily implied” in this case means never happened right?
Nah just transition as we did originally. Give it that authentic experience of us all ramming into the same zone at the same time. If you dont want that delete your chars and start fresh with all the others who want a “fresh” start
I want the real experience on day 1
If they don’t progress the servers, there will be way too many servers for Classic for the number of players who will want to keep playing after P6. Progressing the servers with new Classic ones with copies for those who want to stay in this museum piece is the better option.
That wasn’t the Authentic experience. The authentic experience is that a handful of us got in for launch while the login servers crashed and burned leaving most people unable to play.
If you want authentic, then I’m all down for that, but get it right.
Oh I’m 100% sure we will get this. lol
Ive seen every expansion so im well aware of the launch turmoil. Par for the course. I can accept that as long as they dont cater to lazy people who did nothing all through classic and now want others dragged down to their level. This is the mentality that got us retail
The authentic argument needs to end for one reason alone, we will NEVER get that experience again do to data on the game being out there for 13+ years. This is like doing a hard drug for that rush again, never gonna get it, it wont be the same as the first time. Heck, even playing ANY GAME is never like the first time.
But for it to be “as close to being as authentic as possible”, do copy servers of wow classic along side classic TBC for your characters to continue on. That is the way, no matter how you or I feel about it do to the current meta for playing the game and how exploitable the game is because of it.
Honestly? I don’t even see TBC working well without massive changes. Elemental Plateau is gonna be unusable. Most farming zones will be unusable. Game is gonna be too populated to even have fun with.
