Any of these people saying there won’t be Fresh servers are no different than the Wall of No trolls from years ago.
The answer is we don’t know. No word on it yet. Maybe it’ll happen, maybe it won’t. But I’m with you, OP. My sub runs out in a little over two weeks. Only way I come back is if there’s a fresh server option.
as your first post in this thread. Right below you I posted
As a response to your inaccurate statement. This upset you so you posted
despite once again no one mentioning either race, just the length of the prepatch. So please Karen explain to me how my first post below your first post is a conversation I rudely interrupted by just correcting you.
You’re clairvoyant and able to know what everyone is thinking, or is it just you projecting what you’re thinking? Either way you’re trolling or you’re just a hyper aggressive idiot looking for a fight. Have a good one.
Well if they want to respond they are welcome too. But why else would a short prepatch bother people other than all the posts about not thinking they have enough time to level?
It feels to me like they’ll wait until after TBC releases so they can get every penny they can from people paying for TBC in hopes there’s a fresh server, and then people paying for boosts thinking there won’t be any.
That’s great for new players who didn’t play Classic but want to play TBC. You know…the type of players Blizzard specifically said they want able to jump into Outlands alongside their friends.
There would need to be a business-justification for Blizzard to allocate resources to additional servers beyond the list of low-medium pop servers we already have.
I wouldn’t expect them to create new, unnecessary servers because a group of folks think it’s a cute idea.
Considering the request for fresh realms thread has 3,000 replies and 40,000 views with no response, it looks unlikely. A ton of people want it for various reasons. Unfortunately Blizzard are masters at radio silence. It would be nice if we could get a blue post that says “yes”, “no”, or “we are looking into this”. The ideal time to release fresh realms would be pre-patch or launch.
A legitimate number of players think it is more than just a “cute idea.” Some, including myself, are holding off from launch to see how things pan out before joining an economical and mechanical disaster.
I fully support a fresh set of servers. I would pay the $70.00 to have no mount, no CE, a closer community for punitive actions against those who abuse the economy.
That could be a large number of people as well; but at the end of the day, there would have to be a business-related justification for those extra servers.
How can you know whether or not each new supporter who chimes in every day aren’t just alts magnifying the topic—making it look like a long list of unique players?
If you think ActiBli$$ion is hurting, you couldn’t be more wrong. They could hire active GMs like the ones they had in the initial TBC.
People don’t realize Blizzard died with Mike Morhaime. ActiBli$$ion is going to be just fine even if they had to make every server full of GMs with no microtransactions.
Everyone throws numbers around in support of Blizzard, too. I have a couple bridges to sell those people.
The reason for fresh servers is because ActiBli$$ion announced a “Classical” experience by definition. Right? Right. Many people would begin at level 1 for a fresh start and truly “Classic” experience.
We’ll never get exact. Most everyone knows that. But we can get much closer. Not having a blue post on this subject yet is insane. Coming up on 40K views on the fresh thread.
Purist doesn’t mean pure. It means as close as possible, and we could get much closer than “Retail” TBC with fresh. Goodness knows ActiBli$$ion has seen threads on fresh. This game isn’t free to play.
If this game were truly free to play, I could understand microtransactions. We pay every month, however. An hour on OLD TBC CONTENT is the SAME as an hour on NEW SHADOWLANDS CONTENT. We own both xpacs and pay for our sub time.
I pay too, but I wouldn’t expect them to allocate resources to servers offering a niche experience.
When Classic was launched, the queues to log in were very long, and people were pissed. So, they provided some extra servers. Maybe three or four, but the thing is, a few months later, they had more servers than what was needed on launch day.
When TBC launches, they may respond in the same way, and open additional servers because of the queues. But, given the previous situation, where they ended up with too many servers, they would do so very carefully.
The long-term matters too, not just launch week and the last thing Classic needs, is our population spread too thinly for the long-term. That will result in far more unhappy players than the group asking for fresh now.
