Freedom is always better than limitations

Hi, super average player here. Posting in this thread is the extent of me caring about the cooldown.

I have no idea what youā€™re trying to say here. It isnā€™t clear that you do, either.

Where is the fun if we get to actually make choices throughout the expansion, rather than being locked into a bad choice we were forced to make because all choices were bad?

It isnā€™t clear you have any idea what ā€œfunā€ is.

So itā€™s still possible to play the game, but you have to work harder to get anything done. Why would players find that fun?

If you donā€™t understand the difference between wanting to be able to root your opponents in NBA 2K and not wanting another layer of restrictions on us in the game weā€™re already playing, there might be a bigger problem.

They will not.

We need a new dev team. Pray for systemlands:Venthyr crashes and burns.

As a filthy casual I can definitely say that a week CD on conduits doesnā€™t bother me a hoot. I honestly wouldnā€™t care if the CD extended to talents and specs. IMO this is ONLY going to be an issue for the CDO ā€œcompetitiveā€ crowd. Truly casual players donā€™t swap that kind of stuff that often. :see_no_evil::speak_no_evil::hear_no_evil:

I take it someone likes to play with ā€œgodmodeā€ on. Working within the restrictions is part of playing any game.

Iā€™m not saying that was his specific argument, more just pointing out how many people here seem to believe that having less restrictions automatically equals more fun.

Iā€™m really more addressing the post title, because I think it has to be obvious that every game has to have some kind of restrictions, otherwise whatā€™s the point of playing it

Iā€™m pretty darn casual and I switch specs multiple times a day. Depending on how much the conduits influence things, thatā€™s a pretty big impact.

Damn love people who think they can speak for other than themselves ā€¦

I personally enjoy those limitation , im tired of being expected to switch spec for X content , so being limited on other systems is FINE by me . Though i do see why some people dont like it . But we should give this a try and see if itā€™s that bad since we weā€™re always given decent freedom on those kinds of systems .

Oh? But what about when limitations bring those freedoms?

Average player here, I donā€™t mind.

Its azerite respeccing in a different more solid limitation. Do you really need to play it to look at a week long cooldown and understand the problems with it?

Oh well guess we will have to see when it comes out.

Wow yes the best response to anything, that person is an elitist who couldnā€™t handle being sub-optimal for a minute of their life.

Itā€™s my understanding that you can set 3 up and swap them whenever. If itā€™s like Azerite at least itā€™s free? Frankly I donā€™t know enough about it to care. Iā€™ll play the game when it comes out. Hardly worth getting worked up over.

Congrats thats the main argument against this. Except that they are all unique soulbinds with very different perks and amounts of conduits in them which makes it annoying if you would rather only use 1 than be forced to use all 3.

Again, Iā€™m fine with that. The ability to so easily change things is a problem which is plaguing the game imo.

Casual is a meaningless buzzword that doesnā€™t really apply here. Everyone plays the game for different reasons whether its 1 hour or 8 hours a day.

We wonā€™t truly know how good or bad the system is for the greater population until its out and people get their arms around it.

All I am trying to say is that blanket freedom for everyone to do whatever they please with no rules, no limitations or boundaries makes for a poor game. Yes, there are bad choices and good choices like in any sport you play.

No one is supposed to have overwhelming power in every aspect. Might as well give people access to GM powers and reimburse every mistake you made because it was a poor choice.

This is part of the experience of any game.

What fun is there if you know everything optimal?
What fun is there if you take statistically the best performing gear, skill, mods?

I donā€™t know how much clearer I can make this. Clearly, though, what I find fun is an abstract concept to others.

I donā€™t see the point in the cooldown.

There is no cooldown on switching talents.

They are putting systems in place that encourage players to do multiple forms of content (raids, dungeons, BGs, arenas) like the weekly chest, where different builds and playstyles are often used traditionally.

And a lot of times itā€™s not even a case of something being ideal, but rather certain talents/picks being borderline useless in a given situation. Itā€™s the way WoW has always been really. If they are going to crack down on changing builds the overall design should reflect that, but it really doesnā€™t.

From the tone of the topic ā€¦yes thatā€™s exactly how I took it.

They are trying to encourage people to quit looking at cookie cutter ā€œYou must be thisā€ mindsets.
