Forum revamp

Just do the account wide thing first. It’s such low hanging fruit and it makes no sense to both have a system that you need an account to post, then a way to act like multiple people. It really is the dumbest thing on the forums right now.

Account wide ignore, and some way to tell if a user is the same as another user. I think one forum name then whatever character name under it would make the most sense. Even if they separate it from btag to keep it to the forums only.

:+1:

Entirely unnecessary.

When you put someone on ignore, it automatically mutes any threads they start.

Yeah the requirements are ridiculous just to post gifs and links.

did that work for you?

curse you…

We fought to be able to post on our WoW characters and not a Btag, because this is an MMORPG and not one of Blizzard’s other games.

Account wide ignore, sure. Account wide flags, sure. Account wide trust level, sure.

Karma system? No.

Btags under our character names? Fine, but not necessary.

New player experience is Dragonflight.

Because no other game is an MMORPG with unique characters. People want to see armories, guilds, their characters, etc. Just put the Btags under our character names or nothing, because it’s not all that relevant.

Thanks dude. Appreciated. Nice accusations.

Agreed on account-wide trust level. And also just reducing the trust level requirements a bit in general. I don’t think we should do away with them entirely; they need some way of ensuring everyone can’t just log onto the forums day one and post nsfw stuff. But the current requirements are unnecessarily tedious.

I don’t think people’s btags should be public (it should always be someone’s choice whether they reveal their btag to you—even if a person doesn’t have the 4 digits, your btag might be the same as your social media handles, for instance, and that could lead to harassment). But I do support account-wide implementation. Maybe with a “user number” visible on a person’s profile page or something, idk.

I just had this same discussion about Btgs not too long ago.

now you know full well I wasn’t talking about you with your way too high of a post count to possibly be on alts.

So an example is in league lets say i make 20 reports that are fake or false now my report count has less then someone who is reporting for their first time or have made reports that have led to actions taken. because currently the system is mass reporting = ban or removing post while actualy reports for troll and spam nothing happens.

But I am against Btags only and not characters.

If we have account wide ignore, account wide flags, account wide trust level… then Btags honestly won’t matter.

I want people to see our characters that we enjoy and our content n stuff.

yeah…not having yet another tool for harassing others in here who do as the blue said and swap alts to get away the harassers is a good reason why

no…banning the bad actors is what is needed…not showing more of our account info on every post for harassing sorts to keep harassing when someone does what a blue said to do and swaps alts to get away from the harassment.

That was my initial reason I opposed using btags, but it cuts both ways.

People can (and do) also use it to hide from their own reputation of being a troll and to AstroTurf posts.

After discovering I have been baited into pointless arguments several times by the same person on different characters. I am firmly in camp Btag.

Just say a player is using 10 level 80s alts on these forums. How do you know who is the real slim shady?

I’m 500% in favor of btags for the forums, like all the other forums have.

let people use a character avatar as well, sure, but btags to stop people from alt hopping to troll would be amazing.
