Forsaken Customization

I want a ghost ship.
If Jaina can do it with water elementals, forsaken can do it with ghosts/banshees.

Or maybe gargoyles carrying the boat by chains, lmao.

Benediktion as always based as f*

Forsakens could have magic ships like the one Davy Jones has in Pirates of the Caribbean 3 that go under water.

You know what? Make some of those cannons shoot BONE SPLINTERS at super high velocity to shred through sails and crew. Give them an undead Kraken abomination that they put together using several different sea creatures. A giant octopus of which each tentacle is a shark, giant eel, squid or octopus.

I can already hear the RELEASE THE KRAKEN! [MANIACAL LAUGHTER]

God, I love these boney people

Is it too soon for BfA remix?

Ay bruv we need a Legion remix first cmon

Iā€™m here for any and all customization options that Blizzard has to offer but it is criminal that they donā€™t even have a simple ā€˜straight backā€™ option for Forsaken, especially after adding the fresher corpse look. Heck, Iā€™d even settle for some more hairstyles because although I love that they added Elvira and Vampira inspired dos, the selection is still kinda abysmal for UD females.

ā€¦ So much wasted potential!

I understand people wanting a straight back forsaken. I mean, I find it offensive, like someone ordering Mexican food but without all the spices and carbs. Or going to black church but wishing everyone would sit down and stop interrupting. But I get wanting something.

If they actually give it to those people, whoever makes that decision deserves to be fired because it is an objectively incorrect decision for the artistic direction of the game. Forsaken are hunched over. Zandalari being upright piss me off too.

We see upright undead all the time though. Just because someone has a dislike for it, doesnā€™t mean itā€™s the wrong option to have for those want an unpright forsaken

Itā€™s not my opinion that they are ugly or anything.

Itā€™s my opinion that they are less communicative as character design and therefore say less about the Forsaken for everyone else who plays. Your character is not your character alone. Your character is a feature in a game played by many many people.

No one is going to mistake a UPRIGHT UNDEAD as anything other than an upright undead. That excuse you keep using hasnā€™t been a thing for literally years now

Half the playable races in game now share the same exact rigging now.

Giving an option doesnā€™t remove the ability to NOT choose that option, though. Undead should come in all shapes and sizes, and lore-wise they do.

Heck, even give it some Undead reasoning like they sought out the freshest spine to replace their old one. Some fancy corpse sewing work could make for some very interesting self-upgrades.

Undead is Undead, no matter what they look like.

Thatā€™s not the point.

Itā€™s not about identification. Itā€™s about communicating a tone. Itā€™s about using shape language to communicate things about the character. Itā€™s the same reason that some people donā€™t want to be hunched over. If you donā€™t want to hear people shout, you donā€™t actually want to go to black church. Make a human paladin.

Itā€™s still a forsaken. Thatā€™s all someone needs to know. Being upright isnā€™t changing anything

Is glowing eyes and rotting flesh not conveying enough of a tone?

Intelligent people can pick out the identifiers. Someone whoā€™s intellectually honest, isnā€™t going to look at a upright forsaken and miss the fact that itā€™s still an undead.

Itā€™s not a forsaken. Itā€™s all forsaken. This game is special because the people who helped create the aesthetic knew the power of creating strong visual messages with the postures and shapes and colors they chose for their races. Have you never seen the amount of possible customizations they originally had planned for the undead faction? They decided to limit it to the hunched over male and female, because they were knowledgeable artists. Smarter than me! I didnā€™t just come up with this position out of the blue. I said some stupid ill-informed stuff somewhere and someone who knew a thing or two corrected me.

The game engine was severally limited in what it could handle back than. Thatā€™s all. Thereā€™s a reason why half the game world didnā€™t actually exist back in vanilla and they had to add a lot of things that LOOKED real from a distance and had to be revamped in Cata for example

Thereā€™s a reason they been adding MORE CUSTOMIZATIONS over the years. Because the game can now handle them.

And besides, WoW is 20 yrs old now. Itā€™s moved on from WC 3 and the nostalgia from back than.

Man, you either want more customization as we move forward, or stay stagnant in the past, canā€™t have both.

I donā€™t think having a straight-spined forsaken option would dilute the fantasy of them, much the contrary. It would just reinforce that they come in all shapes and sizes, much like people. Because they are people.
