Should run that gambit in terms of diversity.
The Forsaken are afterall called Undead interchangeably and have in lore been regarded as more of a coalition of the damned than any single subspecies.
I think a cool way to reflect that would be to add more customization options that’d range from razor sharp incisors to a stiched body skin. Also things like the brain-in-a-jar haircut we saw on Maldraxxus mobs using the Forsaken male model need to be a thing.
And why not get wild with it and give more bat-like ear options? Kirtonos was an undead PC race that shifted into a gargoyle. Hell why not give a Pinhead like haircut as well. That’d go well with the long exisiting leather straps some Forsaken fancy wearing on their face.
I think if you were in Tirisfal you’d be in line with everyone from a rotting revenant to a vespertilian vagrant to some guy who might just seem dehydrated if it weren’t for the glowing eyes and it’d be cool to see that represented in game.

I’ve been thinking about this for years, Forsaken should have the most customisations of any race, especially after the cata revamp to the old world/start zones when Sylvanas is using Valkyr to make new forsaken.
We see the valkyr miniboss before the green dragon encounter in ICC resurrect npcs of different races into undeath, and Sylvanas has more powerful versions of valkyr than that miniboss, so they should be able to also raise other races not just humans into forsaken/undeath.
So you should be able to have just your playable forsaken character look like a dead tauren or a dead orc, or a dead dwarf.
There are plenty of toys and other items that let you change forms to a more dead/dying look, and a few of them still work in BGs and arenas (though blizz has fixed a lot of shapeshift toys to not work in PVP), so that kinda of breaks their silhouettes in PVP nonsense.

That’d be ideal but I do think keeping it within the model makes the most sense. Also canonically outside elves the only other large population of undead we get to see are undead forest trolls in the Plaguelands.
And I’d love to see say the Mossflayers aligned with the Forsaken but like with the Darkfallen that seems like a customization for the Troll race if / when we finally get Forest Trolls. There’s also cursed skeletal Zandalari pirates working for the Horde you see in Orgrimmar and it’d be cool if they turned up in Forsaken territory as well.
I’d keep it to undead humans for the PC race with more options based around Nosferatu, Frankenstein’s Monster and Zombies explicitly. Full skeleton would be cool as well where you could adorn your skull with stuff would be cool as well but that would probably demand too much work. I’m thinking of what would be realistic with the current PC model.

I do like that they have waggling tongues instead of beards though. I had a vargul (undead vyrkul) character who’d stroke his when deep in thought, getting spittle everywhere. Real kicker was he had the mental capacity of a hammer so there wasn’t much to come from this pondering precipitation.

I wish the female forsaken had this jawless dragging tongue option too. So unfair.

It gets weird because cata shows us there are multiple methods for becoming undead/forsaken. And it’s even something blizzard thought about in WOTLK.
in WOTLK there is an NPC at the argent tournament called Trag Highmountain, he is a character from the Sunwell trilogy and he uses a tauren death knight model hecause a proper undead tauren model didnt exist in game at the time of WOTLK but lorewise he isn’t a death knight like playable DKs at the time were (he just used that model like I said), nor is he raised into undeath by LK arthas like playerable forsaken were at the time (canonically they were all humans of lordaeron who sylvanas freed from being under the control of the LK during the events of warcraft 3).
Trag is brought back to life via a different method that what playable forsaken are at the time of WOTLK are, other than him looking like a dead cow, he has all the same characteristics of a forsaken player/undead creature, he doesnt need to breath to live, doesn’t eat, doesnt sleep, he is pseudo immortal (not living not dead, only dies if his body is destroyed), the only real difference is he is a former tauren not a former human.

Cause they don’t care about the Forsaken. More likeley you are gonna see more elf customization options.
The Forsaken should get more options because they are undead. We have elf zombies. You know that? Elf zombies. Go do the Belf heritage quest line, you’ll see. But they couldn’t give the forsaken the elf skinjob, like those wretched which use the forsaken model.
No facial hair either. For some reason death gives you a clean shave in WoW. No wait, that’s just the Forsaken.
No straight back posture like the orcs, even if it’s been on high demand.
I won’t even bring up the fact that they should have the option to roll at least the human model, since they decided to change Blightcaller’s model to a human.
None of these things have happened over decades. Not one. The conclusion is, the don’t give a crap. In fact I’m pretty sure the previous writing team planned to cut them out of the story and therefore the game fully. Dunno how the new team feels about it. Remains to be seen, I guess.

Tough break. Welp, human hair customization 67 through 94 aren’t gonna create themselves…
Bit of a catch 22 as I’m sure they justify the lack of broader interest as justification for the lack of attention. But if you gave them more attention you’d have broader interest.

Agree.
Hid my rant about this lol been fighting for this to be a thing for years, so I will spear you haha
It’s been something I been looking forward even more than the interesting idea of having all Elves united under one nation or empire with all those unique magic and racial knowledge of all Cosmic forces they have access too… (especially now that we DO have a possible Empire to contend with).
Forsaken is a VERY unique concept that MOST MMO lack… Not to mention other monster races that WoW added as races that most RPG never let you play as and if they do, it’s always under very specific narrative condition or limitations created by a GM so players can play as them.
Warhammer is the only other RPG that really have expanded this to some incredible degree creating even cultures and full empires built around these Monster Playable races especially with the Futuristic Undead the Necron or their more medieval version Necropolis Empires of Liches, Necromancers, Vampire and all sorts of other cool unique undead.
WoW has the unique opportunity with the Forsaken, DK and other undead even if their just skins, to bring this monster Culture or Empire/Kingdom to life in the online world… I mean they did actually created an Afterlife culture of sorts, why can’t they expand on the Undead of their living World, it could even be connected. They already have Sylvanas trap there making deals and gaining favors to save the souls in the Maw… it’s basically a story waiting to be told and brought to life in WoW!
Also the fact that after Shadow Lands the Forsaken and DK are still stuck to their undead Zombie or normal bodies after learning runcarving, fleshcraft, slimemancy, new living plagues and other unique ways to improve their powers, VFX to their abilities and add more CC to them is potential not even touch! (IMO I know that WoW models are incredibly hard to add new customizations)
We even were introduced in Legion to the undead homunculi that is invisible and almost unnoticeable to a normal living race to DH spectral gaze unless you cut them and see the green ooz coming from them, basically normie undead of already existing races… lol! The potential is there.
The question is how long before Blizz decides to expand on it, before others already do… I know Blizz does their best when coping well they already have enough single player games among other online titles that already have explore this with great success! V Rising even tho it’s a survival game already explore Vampires among other creatures and did better than even the studio who made it anticipated. Castlevania… lol enough said, that game takes undeath to a whole nother level of fun craziness.
Um, sorry got carried away again I will stop as I can continue endlessly on how much I love they expand on this… WoW non-human races fascinate me, even their unique take on the elves!
FULL TL;DR: I Agree that they expand on the Forsaken Please!

I wouldn’t be shocked if they just straight up port the human model with deathly pale skin tones and glowing eyes to Forsaken at some point.

I wanna be a mini Deathwhisper in my raid groups.

Be cool if they let you go full skeleton with unique skull jewelry adornments instead of the usual haircuts and features.
