On the bright side Doubleagent is still leveling his pandaren through gathering profs every single expansion without leaving the turtle.
How doez that even work?
You get experience with each gathering you make, except Fishing and Skinning. It is VERY small but it’s still something.
Based on his body language when JAB said the “You think you do, but you don’t” thing, I have doubts. He probably has been one of the stronger advocates for Classic from the get go.
Ion isn’t the one that doesn’t like Classic. Did you watch the video with him and J Allen Brack? J seemed like he was seething and Ion had his “ayy dudes here’s the news” look that he always has.
Huh. Now I know.
A lot of the “spike” are people snapping up the CE’s because they’re collecting the CE’s (novel concept) or they’re going the in-game pets/extras for the other titles.
Ion’s problem is him and Lore always act like they know what’s best and think that being edgy = being cool. I personally act very edgy with my friends and joke way over the top, but the standard for a business is different than a group of friends joking around.
I don’t know what’s in the man’s heart. I’m not a mind reader (though I do have portals).
But I can look at his record of work from WoD-Legion-BFA and based on that I’d say he is the extreme enemy of the philosophy that made classic great.
If he was, he wouldn’t have been positively glowing when presenting the BlizzCon 2018 Classic panel.
Right. People seem to forget that. Also about my comment on J Allen Brack, he claims that his ice cream joke at Blizzcon was his favorite joke he made of all time. So even if he doesn’t like it he still accepts it.
That was because the Purples got all kinds of attention in Vanilla, and players made it very clear that they liked them purple items, so Blizzard made sure everyone could get purples. It is what they wanted after all.
Sounds like they started catering to the wrong crowd.
Most RPGS didn’t even care if you got epics or legendaries waaaaaaaaaaay back
Hell, the non-WoW RPGs I play still don’t.
Then again they all have a major single-player component to them that allows me to not even share the world with other players who only care about treadmills.
Treadmills can be fun, but its always fleeting fun that never lasts. People seem to forget the later half until its too late; repeatedly.
You do realize the genie was out of the bottle by the time he had control of the reigns? He can’t shove it back in on retail, the player base won’t let him.
If they want a treadmill, they’ve got one – Retail.
Classic was a multiplayer sandbox action RPG. With emphasis on the RPG elements. And the multiplayer.
You do realize it’s a mistake to blame the players for the developers failure of leadership?
I personally only really raid the first and final patch of an expansion out of fresh hype and that there will be a guaranteed half year without a reset for the end.
