So you have called my question stupid, said I don’t know anything and I live under a rock.
You acknowledge that cross server LFD was community ruining in retail. But are you considering that we are saying, the easier lfg addon makes it for people to find the players they want, the harder it becomes for players they don’t want to get into groups? Also does a social community thrive on helping eachother through difficult struggles, not automating convenience?
But Graff says it doesn’t work that way.
I, and the majority, believe that auto grouping random players is automating gameplay.
You are in the minority in this view. It can and is both simultaneously.
Nonsense, they have spoken to this issue. You can argue it doesn’t apply to this add on, but to pretend the automated processes or add ons that “go against the spirit of Classis” have not been discussed is being disingenuous.
The auto invite will be removed as stated by the developer. I suspect that any effort by the player base to explore automating random dungeon groups will be met with a hammer from Blizz. Time will tell I suppose.
First off, post the link to where you’re getting this from. Because you’re giving it features without letting people read them for themselves.
Secondly, if I send someone a list of my talents how is that any better than sending via an addon? You can choose to share or not share them, there is no other way to see your talents. No armory, no in-game talent inspection, you have to choose to share it.
Well in another thread someone actually said they wanted only a holy priest for dungeon runs so they could exclude other talent builds.
In vanilla I was an spriest and had no problems healing dungeons.
I can see the talent build coming into play for optimal raid groups but you don’t need that for dungeons.
I’m not sure. But that is the worry. I have no interest in using the addon. I just don’t think the sky is falling because some will.
Well you are using bags addon and me not affect my PvP experience as you have the ability to switch weapons midflight easier.
So, you using a bag addon AFFECTS directlly my gameplay. Do I really care ? Nop.
How me using this addon affects you ? Your group will be auto-added to the list of other groups. And I still need to write to you manually to be considered.
Will you announce on /2 ? In this case you are limiting your self to capital cities. If you use /4 (global LFG), I’ll see your group.
AND I’ll see groups of other people who created them via addon.
There should not be an option to see other players talents as that was not available in Classic. If they want to share they should have to send you a link to a 3rd party talent calculator and you will just have to trust them.
You wont be missed then.
Yeah. I hope the pserver crowd that come over reject it and play the game the way it was. They do on pservers and have survived all these years without it.
Because it doesn’t. No addon can force you to share your talents. If you install an addon does share your talents without you choosing that then remove the addon.
ClassicLFG does not share your talents against your will.
Well…
Not to be a meanie, but the person creating a group can invite whoever they want to invite and you really have no say in the matter other than to create your own group.
If they want to inspect you and your build and decline you based on that, that’s their perogative.
Im so happy I dont freak out over 3 letters.
There is no such option. You can not see another person’s talents without them choosing to share them with you.
Regardless of how the addon functionally works, it’s still harmful to the social experience in some fashion.
It dilutes the need to interact with other players when forming groups, and I’m not ok with that.
Even though I have been told that vanilla raids are much easier in terms of mechanics I would like to see them when you are appropriately scaled and geared out for them. It’s not that retail’s world is empty but it would be very difficult to find 40 level 60’s not in heirlooms to run MC with like it was progression. But mainly I want to play an earlier iteration of warrior than I ever saw, while questing with a friend who has been looking forward to this for a few years.
This should not be an in game option period. Choose or not is irrelevant because those that do not share will inevitably be denied. #NoChanges!
So people should not be allowed to say “I have this talent”? Because that’s in-game sharing. An addon just does the exact same thing.
Oh, and no changes means these addons should be in. After all, they were in during Vanilla too.
I agree 100%.
Although I’m curious and honestly don’t know, is Talent viewing in game? IIRC it was a pre TBC thing.
I make my own groups so I don’t have to deal with nonsense like this.
You are being intentionally pedantic. There is a HUGE difference between saying, “Do you have “X” talent?” and being able to look at someone’s actual in game talent tree and I suspect you know that.
