Literally no one complained about it like you are claiming. What people were complaining about was reputation being tied to valor and it was spread across like 6 different reps. So what did blizzard end up doing? Removing the system completely.
I’m confused at what your point is. Can you try to be a little bit more clear with it?
I’m not trying to speak for LFR raiders. I haven’t run LFR in like 6 years. When I do, it’s for transmog. I don’t care about tier pieces dropping in LFR, I don’t care about Domination stuff dropping in LFR. I don’t run LFR, so what drops in LFR has literally no effect on me.
I’m just saying, in general, if someone is doing something that causes them mental anguish, they should probably stop doing whatever that something is. It doesn’t even have to do with WoW; it can be anything.
226 tier piece doesn’t outperform 272 M+ items. They fix this issue by weighting main stat extremely high. In 9.1 you were much more compelled to do LFR to get your set bonus because the set bonus was grinded separately as a currency and set of 9 gems that had very high drop rates in LFR. In 9.2 if you have access to a guild raid, doing LFR is only for mogs because the only thing you can grind in regards to your set bonus is on junky 226 items that would take away so much STR from someone in an active raiding guild that it is totally useless. It is a non-issue entirely.
Sure.
This statement: “If you don’t want to do LFR, don’t do it” - or anything like it - is an illegitimate statement these days. Because a bunch of LFR players decided to make it illegitimate by repeatedly stating that the same doesn’t apply to anything else.
So people should never say it, and come up with other rationale, instead.
That’s all. Just looking for some consistency in the discussion, here.
Do you legitimately think LFR players decide the rules of the game?
In a game where people opt into paying $15 per month… you think the only people who have a say are the ones who barely play it?
No, but I think it’s silly to think the chorus doesn’t have some impact on the conductor.
Then act like it.
You’re going on about how LFR players make the rules but don’t actually feel that way.
I change my mind about being confused. You’re just trolling.
We aren’t even talking about game design, though, we’re talking about what’s said on this forum.
Statement: "If you don’t like how a guild handles loot, don’t play with them.
People on this forum: “Unacceptable.”
Statement: “If you don’t like LFR, don’t do it.”
^ This should also be unacceptable on this forum, then.
I’d just like the gestalt to be consistent, that’s all.
People who do LFR did not remove master loot. Devs removed master loot to slow down gearing and make raids last longer in BfA. People who do LFR did not lobby to have master loot removed. Blizzard’s announcement that master loot was being removed came as a surprise to everyone.
This is nonsense. It didn’t happen. People who do LFR were not responsible in any way for the devs deciding to remove master loot.
No, you. Stop making stuff up.
There was no “chorus”. Nobody asked for removal of master loot. The discussion didn’t even start until the devs announced it was already a done deal and not up for discussion.
We actually do see people who want master loot back telling others who don’t that they should choose a guild that doesn’t use master loot, even though it’s been gone for 2 expansions now. So stop saying that since it’s false.
I’m not talking about game design. I’m not talking about what’s said on the forums.
I’m talking about not doing something if you don’t enjoy it. Not you personally, but any player in general.
You’re either trolling or reading waaaaaaaaaaaaay too far into what I’m saying.
This is the conversation you’re trying to have…
Me: If you don’t enjoy it, don’t do it.
You: Forum dwellers have informed me that’s an invalid thing to say.
Me: blank stare
You: I just want the forums to be consistent.
I think I understand now. You’re the forum police. If you’re not the forum police, you’re the forum Mayor and just trying to keep things under control. Thank you for your sacrifice.
Jokes aside though, I really feel like you should focus on playing your game and stop focusing on what other people say or do in the game. Especially if you don’t interact with them while playing. Unless your version of the game is policing the rest of the game for everyone else. If that’s the case, maybe don’t.
Agreed. From what I understand, the whole piece gets morphed, not just the affix. So we don’t have don’t have control over the secondaries.
But, I’m definitely not 100% certain.
Thank you for this. Saved me the trouble. An absolute bogus and baseless accusation.
Are people forgetting that you can get these tier pieces from m+ and pvp? Why would anyone go for a 239 version when they could spam dungeons without a weekly lockout and get the pieces at a much higher level?
https://ptr.wowhead.com/news/acquire-tier-sets-from-raid-pvp-and-mythic-in-patch-9-2-bad-luck-protection-with-324851
That is not how that is going to work. You won’t have access to the craftable item to change vault items into tier early on.
Barely playing it depends. If people only do LFR then yeah but most people that do LFR are casuals who play a lot because of farming for stuff that never dropped in older expacs, doing open world, dungeons, etc.
But I don’t think any players really have that much of an impact on what Blizz does. They decide what they want to do and go with that full tilt and until it becomes very apparent it wasn’t well received 6-12 months ago.
So the war between “elites” and “casuals” is a dumb one.
Sweaty raiders when casuals complain about LFR timegating: “Just do normal bro!”
Sweaty raiders when they have to do LFR: “OMG STOP FORCING US TO DO LFR!!!1”
Yes but you won’t have access to LFR early on. They’re going to timegate it, you won’t see the next wing until three weeks in. Are people really complaining about the possibility of six extra bosses given 40 rolls?
Yes. Very dumb.
If someone wants to do LFR, let them. If someone doesn’t want to do LFR, that’s fine too.
People saying there’s is a “right” and “wrong” to it are insane.
They are both timegated appropriately. You most likely won’t have the currency or the base item you’d want to use if you got unlucky on both normal and heroic during the first week. LFR will be worth running because of bad luck.
