For the people asking for max ilvl gear without having to do challenging content

I think every slot had multiple options. There was also the tier 9 set I believe (even though it was often called “trash tier” because it was not too difficult to get. Also, nothing says you need to start from scratch. An item such as a dungeon or LFR or WQ item would be low, but could be increased in ilvl gradually by grinding the currency. It is working to get it, not a freebee.

It’s because there are comments saying they want high mythic gear for low level content. THOSE TROLLS ARE AT IT AGAIN, and I fall for it every time! I need a coffee run.

it was 10 from your first heroic completion + whatever the end boss dropped.

From like 2 trolls. And the “Muh mythic raid gear” crowd just can’t hold back that paranoia.

Ahhhhhh, I see what your saying. Mythic raids are difficult and some people don’t have the mechanical skills to complete those raids. I’m not trying to be rude when I say this, we all play WoW for reasons other than raiding as well. I can see currency system put in place to purchase gear…maybe not mythic but heroic? Like back in Wrath. Maybe run mythic dungeons for the currency.

Well, we shall see what Blizz does.

Every slot did not have options, and you can still find some old articles online showing the gear.

The tier pieces you could only buy the 10 man version and needed the raid token to upgrade it to the 25 man version.

The easy to get 232 Trial of the crusader gear when ICC is out would be Like 415 gear with Ny’alotha out by the way.

The main thing is most of what was the badge gear of old would be mostly LFR-Normal raid gear levels now which is available in spades. With a handful of heroic raid gear which is also available here and there without raiding.

I dont see what’s wrong with how they’ve done it the past few expansions. The big weekly boxes give you one step up from the content you are doing so that you can possibly advance to the next step. If all you do is raid finder, you get normal mode gear. If all you do is normal mode you get heroic tier gear. If you are a heroic raider you get mythic equivalant gear. You then use that gear to possibly step in to the next difficulty. I’ve always thought that was great and i dont really see the problem with it. I also felt M+ gear in BFA was too good for how easy it was to obtain and although they’ve addressed it to an extent i still think it could be fleshed out a little more to be like the box system.

Same! I PVPd A LOT from Wrath - WoD but now I just cant get into it… why do I want to be destroyed by mythic raiders PVPing when I know damn well I cant compete with the gear.
I think removing the separate PVP gear was where it all went down hill honestly.

I have never received a Mythic raiding piece of gear from a World Quest. So I’m not sure I understand.

Devaluing progression means devaluing the content in the game and people getting bored much quicker. Having a progression path means people have more to do to work upwards.

Take Old Republic, for example. I really like their gearing system. But I haven’t had any reason to set foot into any flashpoint or operation, because I have the highest level of gear without doing any of that. So now I don’t really feel like there’s much to do. No reason to run that content.

I don’t run mythic raids. So I’m speaking as somebody who agrees that that loot should belong to mythic raiders even though I don’t do that content currently myself.

Darn trolls. I mean…not you…since you’re an actual troll…but forum trolls. I like Horde Trolls

I think it would be fine if WQ stuff scaled up to mythic. Would help mythic raiders with raiding and would provide a slow way for non raiders to get gear that lets them do whatever they want with it.

Plus, if things are actually thought through, the WQ gear wouldn’t be as powerful as raid gear. So raiders would still have the most optimized gear and more casual players would still be able to progress and do content they want to do at faster speeds.

I would feel awesome

Everybody should be able to max out their characters and raiding or M+ shouldn’t be the only path there IMO!

We all pay the same sub fees, we should all have a path to max level gear and Blizzard would do better if they made one for everybody

I’m not saying it should be easy handouts, but there should be other ways including solo play!

I overwhelmingly play solo and I’d be satisfied with decent bop crafted gear that isn’t random and doesn’t require something stupid (ie not soloable) just to get the recipe. Doesn’t need to be the best, just decent, like LFR level would suffice. Never understood why professions aren’t a good source of bop solo gear, it would help my class fantasy if I skinned into my own mail armor that didn’t suck and/or have the wrong stats for my class. I’d prefer it to emissary gearing, frankly.

The guy who started the thread the OP is talking about is a well known loudmouth troll. The only reason it keeps coming up as a topic is, for reasons unknown, people won’t stop biting and let that thread die.

I’m a die hard solo player and I do not think I deserve the best gear. I just shouldn’t feel gimped, doing emmisaries and buying boes is fine and all, I was good topping out in 445s. I just wish I could have crafted at least a good deal of it myself. For me it’s not about having the best, but more about not having the worst.

Socialism is bad. Make sure you get out and vote!

I don’t understand why people pay for carries.

hmm, maybe 10 was justice points.

either way, you could run and get badges all day till you could buy a piece. was a better system than now.

You could get the lower badges which was even worse gear.

The top badges, emblems of frost, was limited to 2 badges per day if you didn’t raid ICC.

The gear isn’t rewarding. I just want to be able to PVP without being deleted by PVE dragonslayers.
