For the health of Phase 1 TBC roll back nerfs that T4 received up to 2.4.3

We will be in t4 for 4-6 months. For the health of the game you will need to have T4 in its most challenging state or the game will feel terrible. Please do not release Karazhan or other T4 raids with its nerfed mechanics.

They said they’re keeping functional mechanic changes but changing to pre-nerf HP levels.

I see no problems here, more along

you keep replying this in every thread but that’s not what was said.

I have replied this in ONE thread.

And it was what was said. Go watch the interviews in conline again.

No you watch them again, saying they wont put bugs back in the game is not the same as not implementing pre nerf fights.

They also said they’re not changing functional mechanic changes.

No they didn’t

Revert the 2.3 changes to Kara (weapons became one-handed, badges were added) too.

they said they’re doing pre-nerf HP levels. Not mechanic changes… A lot of mechanics were changed to make the fights POSSIBLE or at least less tedious.

In Classic vanilla they gave us full nerf’d bosses and they said they wouldnt do that but functional mechanics wouldnt change.

No they changed mechanics because 2 -3 tiers of instances were in place and they wanted to make older raids more accessible to pug and gear alts.

M’uru pushback was changed almost instantly.

KT fight was hotfixed within the week.

Moroes bleed was changed from 50% to 30% about a month? after kara released… Mechanics wont change.

Serious explains this quite well.

If you’re saying we get whatever version of Kara that existed a month after release and with no nerfs in 2.1 onward I’m happy with that. Though I think the way you tried to frame what you were saying was dishonest in the extent of nerfs that occurred between 2.1 and 2.4.3

Difficulty/balancing aside, we’re getting the post-2.3 Kara which gave badges and the non-dagger weapons were made one handed so we could dual wield them. So that’s already a nerf.

Functional mechanics didnt change after the initial changes.

HP values and slight variations did. Mostly the big changes were HP values and the ability to ENTER the dungeon w/o attunements or an easier attunement chain later on.

Functional mechanics stayed the same.

Then the instance is just bugged because many players are reporting Nightbane in a nerfed state.

" What version of Kara are we to be expecting, in order to know what is correct? I think many were led to believe we’re getting pre-nerf content, which would obviously impact testing.

For instance Nightbane was changed a number of times, from WoWPedia:

  • Patch 2.1.0 (2007-05-22): Nightbane was significantly retuned with no official patch note; Rain of Bones no longer follows targets, Smoking Blast damage greatly reduced, Distracting Ash completely changed, no longer able to fear during landing, several bugs fixed.
  • Hotfix (2007-03-21): “Nightbane’s melee damage has been reduced.”
  • Hotfix (2007-03-20): “Nightbane’s breath attack and rain of bones now target those players attempting to avoid his attacks.”
  • Hotfix (2007-03-09): “Removed magical immunity from skeletons and reduced damage from breath attack in flight.”
  • Hotfix (2007-03-07): “Nightbane will no longer cast “Bellowing Roar” (fear) while flying.”
  • Patch 2.0.10 (2007-03-06):
    • Nightbane’s Bone Shard Spray can no longer be interrupted by using an immunity effect.
    • Restless Skeletons no longer have immolation.
    • Nightbane’s Restless Skeletons are now immune to non-holy magical damage.

Just watching clips of people doing the content it’s clear that Nightbane is either a later iteration of the boss or bugged, but without knowing intent it’s a little unclear which.

  • Skeletons are NOT immune to magic damage
  • Skeletons do not have immolation
  • I haven’t seen anyone get feared while he’s in the air
  • Doesn’t fear upon landing
  • Does he even do the distracting ash ability?"

I’m pretty sure he’s talking about nerfed mechanics like Romulo’s Daring ability, and all the other things they did in 2.1. Plus, they also made certain mechanics happen less and also changed some to no longer affect certain targets, like Illhoof’s sacrifice.

Well. The fleeing while in the air was a functional change, implemented relatively soon after the start of the game.

Most of those changes listed were within 2 weeks of eachother, once people actually started doing the fight.

All of those bar “melee damage reduced” are functional changes.

And I would hazard to guess that melee dmg reduction of the like 10% will probably stay.

I would hope the may change isnt in there but its listed with a number of bug fixes for him as well so it’s most likely staying.

A lot of those were functional changes, I highly doubt they will be changed back to what they were previously. But pre-nerf damage values and HP will probably come back… Just not the functional changes that made the fights possible.

I mean, its karazhan. Kara was easy AF anyways and its the T5+ content that is the real kicker for the “nerfed” fights. I doubt we’ll be able to go through and test those ones until PTR for the phase hits. Worrying about kara is like worrying about a pebble

I mean, we don’t really know. These nerfs were also necessary because of just how bad the average player was in those days. It’d be nice if they reverted some of the changes to let players actually work towards a more interesting endgame, especially since we don’t have to worry about WBs at all.

Kara is still part of the launch content and will be frequently run for at least several months. And, as I already said, adding badges to it is a mistake.
