Flying ruins the game

Was that supposed to be an insult? I’m sure you can do better than commenting on my outfit, that’s kinda high school :smirk:

The onesie IS super cringe but yeah their argument is bad if they gotta fall back on that kinda stuff lol.

Classic has shown me the opposite and that is from a druid with travel form and stealth.

You mean FF14 not having… oh wait no. How about my favorite MMO of all time City of Heroes?

You know what most MMOs don’t have? World PvP.

This is my forum toon, I don’t play it. I have on the most obnoxious transmog I could come up with intentionally.
I see it’s working as intended.

:yum:

Look at your character’s outfit in classic and tell me that you are insulting people for collecting tmogs…

Classic everyone ends up looking like clowns. It is super immersive breaking seeing people look like that.

I can see both sides of this argument for sure but as someone that flies as much as I can and really likes to use my time effectively especially since I have a toddler running around now and don’t have nearly as much game time as I once did id be lying if I said the game is better with flying in it. Its not, its more convenient yes but it lessens the experience by a large margin. I think we all like the start of a new xpac a lot more then the end and mostly this is because of new content but it also has a lot to do with the world feeling alive again! is this because a lot of people resub? for sure, but its also because we are forced to interact with the world and players around us. if we had flying from the start of the xpac the experience would be vastly different and imo worst. So would the game be better without it probably but the reality is at this point its really hard to pull it out of the game completely and even if most people wanted it the few are usually louder then the many and it just wouldn’t happen.

I think the TBC and Wrath flying models were effective: lock flying until you reach max level then unlock it via a massive gold purchase.

Also, keep leveling zones ground-mount friendly while end game zones are designed with flying in mind.

If the zones in SL are not designed with flying in mind, however, there shouldn’t be flying. Simple as that. It makes a big difference how we engage a zone based on how it was designed for travel.

You are welcome to use your ground mount as much as you like.

As classic has proven, wow from the ground is how the game is meant to played

This is debatable, as has been seen now for years. Some people like flying, some people do not. Was the game dead in BC/WotLK/Cata when we had flying then? No. The game isn’t dead, and when it feels like it, it’s certainly not because of flying. The current system of having to do obnoxious achievements to be able to fly in new zones isn’t ideal, but it’s a reasonable compromise.

OP did say he does use his ground mount but the point is if no one else bothers it doesn’t really do much for him to be doing it. the point of the post is how different the environment feels when flying isn’t available. and those “obnoxious achievements” are literally just play the game and you will unlock it all. I don’t know how much easier they can actually be without just going back to gold purchase. it amazes me that one of the most common complaints that don’t have to do with a DH is these achievements lol I kinda feel like most people would rather pay someone else to play the game and they just watch the screen or something lol. I get returning players feeling really behind and it would be nice if there was skips added in towards the end of the xpac but I mean that’s about it.

Nah, we good.

How do they do world quests and open world stuff from the air?

But isn’t everything in the game just “play it”? It’s more the getting exalted. You can do the entire questlines and only hit revered, then it’s the fun daily mechanics that Blizz is so insistent is ‘content’.

I’m not complaining. I don’t particularly mind it. I just don’t have a real desire to get them done, so I don’t.

Ya your right that’s fair. but I usually don’t see people complaining so much about having to finish the rep odds are if that’s all you have left your kinda just time gated at that point which you can speed up a bit if your really wanting to do every WQ daily. most of the complaining is on a general level of having to do the quests and story at all. but your right any rep beyond what you pretty much get by completing the zone is a bit over kill.

Most of the complaints I see are about time gate and rep farm.

Oh yeah, for sure. Most people complain that the achievements have to be completed at all. But I don’t really mind that. Like I said, I think it’s a reasonable compromise. People typically just don’t like having to be ‘forced’ to do certain things to get the thing they THINK they’re just entitled to.

People are really lazy, lol.

To me, flying it is one of the best parts of the game.

Flying acquisition is already better in other games like ffxiv. If they ever restricted flying further, that would be a breaking point for too many players.

Ooo gosh, dont insult the transmog community like that. Some people put alot of effort into winning game modes where all you do is play dressup. That’s what mmos should really be about.:laughing::laughing:

Onesie on a pig mount has entered the chat.

Those have existed since BC and is far less prevalent then just about every single toon looking like a mismatch assortment of armor.

Well since I’m not part of the transmorg community, have never participated in a trial of style or anything related, I could care less what you, they or spaghetti geezus thinks about my outfit. Grow up.
