gasp…you mean…make the content…interesting again?
Yeah…they killed me when morrowind turned into a stinking playstation game. Daggerfall was soo cool.
The being able to climb over the city walls actually made the game so much more interesting.

I personally don’t use flying except for content that requires it. Outside of that, flying creates kind of a disconnect for me. But that is probably just a me thing.
I wouldn’t campaign for flying to be removed from the game because a lot of people seem to really like it but, I also wouldn’t mourn if it was removed from the game.
However, if there was ever a campaign to disable flying in faction capital cities, I would fully support it.
No matter how time… flies by… we still get these threads. To bad they won’t just… fly… off into the sunset.
Yes totally worth it!!
You mean you don’t want to be thrown back to the dark ages pre-transmog and flight? I can’t imagine why!
So what your saying is we should get rid of flight paths? I mean one can technically say they kill wpvp and make you skip the world as well
Yet I guarantee you do your dailies to lvl up your free “LeGEndArY” given if you have a choice.
Case in point just because you do something does not make it a good mechanic. Also doesn’t warrant immunity to change.
Flying is just a novelty that got stale in WoTLK. Flying is boring and is an absolute time skip with nothing intuitive. Add air combat and now we are talking.
Nah, just goes to show the hypocrisy. Practice what you preach.
I feel the same way, I’d be fine if we just had. Flight Paths and a whistle, but removed flying. I only fly because I have the choice. I also find most the ground mounts to look cooler. Maybe make my badass looking wolves fly /shrug
Actually everyone is wrong and right. I believe the main reason wpvp died was that servers and communities were completely shattered. Back through vanilla-wotlk I remember having enemies on the opposing faction. I remember defending off cross roads for hours. Lower lvls would thank you and remember you. The world felt dangerous and these towns and npc’s needed your protection.
Those times were far from perfect, but I do miss the sense of adventure. I miss when the world felt alive and your actions had consequences. I miss making your own fun. I miss going to a zone filled with history and memories of your making. I miss seeing your enemy on the opposing faction and starting a mini war.
I don’t think flying necessarily killed wpvp but it didn’t help it. Also I never needed rewards for wpvp but I’m sure others did. I think player attitudes changed. Loot being more accessible and everyone wanting shiny epics. This world became less of a world and more of a gear chase. More of a what can I own or what can I get?
I believe that’s why classic wasn’t as big of a success. People came back to classic with retail minds. Today’s gaming industry is a lot different from back then. It used to be about the journey. Now it’s all about the destination. The people like myself with rose tented goggles. We just need to accept this game will never be what it once was. The numbers reflect that truly.
Cool opinion bro. I like flying and generally don’t play the game without it.
We still have awesome WPvP, turn on WM and do the call to arms quests via LFG. It’s a blast! especially in Nazjatar, Vale, and Uldum. Good times!
You think you do, but you don’t…
I only fly because my ground mounts are slow and uninteresting, I’m literally just “running” faster. If they adopted the same speed building/decay mechanic as that cat riding world quest minigame in legion, I’d probably have more fun on the ground… so long as I could top out at ~250-300% speed.
A lot of RPG’s have a form of flying, it’s called Fast Travel, there’s no animation or actual flying, just click on a POI on the map and you teleport there instantly. Take a look at Skyrim, Fallout 3-4 or even Diablo III.
sure you don’t buddy
No, I’m indifferent to flying. It makes life easier, though.
add some huge brightly colored shoulders to the mix and Id say you have a winner ( shouldnt be hard to find that in wow cause that is 90% of shoulder mogs rofl )
Lots of mmos out there with no flying. Check them out but this game has flying so get over it. Development has already thrown enough bs into the game. Let flying stay.
