Sharding and people not playing in areas you’re playing in make the world feel dead.
Here is a great thought. Classic doesn’t have flying, go enjoy the crowds there.

Easier solution is to cap flying to 30 yds off the ground or something. That way, things like WPVP can still happen because you’re in range of attacks.
You could also do what some other MMO does where you have a stamina meter for flying before you have to touch down for an amount of time to recharge. I saw my nephew playing some MMO with that kind of system in it and thought it was a good way to handle it.
Where are you hanging out, Goldshire? Between the two Black Empire assault zones and Nazjatar/Mechagon, the world PVP is all over.
I don’t understand why you can’t just play your way and leave others alone to play theirs.
This is false unless you’re strictly speaking world PVP. Traveling on the ground does not cause player interaction. Player interaction only arise when I reach my destination, if at all, and, by that point, it would be the same interaction regardless if I get there via the ground or through flight.
Well, aside from PVP, the only other player interaction is if you see a player having trouble and you want to help, but you can also do that by flying at low altitude. I was questing in Zangarmarsh just this week and I was flying at low altitude trying to find my targets for all the various quests in that zone. I would be able to see people on the ground just as well as if I had been on the ground, and in fact I would have more chance to see people since I was covering more ground than I would have on the ground because flying gives me that freedom.
I bet the OP and those who agree with him are hypocrites and have and use flying mounts in game too.
oh my god the stupid argument about wpvp was fun back in 2010 but just stop it already, you griefing players 50 levels below you isn’t world pvp, just stop it
Thanks for stating the obvious but you’re being obtuse and deliberately missing the point. While I do feel that warmode is real problem here, the examples you listed are hardly memorable experiences when it comes to player interaction, especially when considering the opposite faction.
So you’re really only talking about PVP then. With war mode, the easy solution is not to have flight (or delay it) for war mode.
I dont think anyone considers flying that detrimental outside of world pvp. However I would argue that you’re still missing out on the shananagans and tom foolery from your own faction when youre zooming around everywhere in the sky. I watched a semi popular streamer the other day completely miss out on a naked gnome dance party and if not for his chat bringing it to his attention he would have missed it entirely.
Go do your ground mount wpvp in classic.
Perhaps nuke bombing was a poor phrase. Basically I feel like an attack helicopter landing dead on target, blowing everything up and immediately taking off skyward to safety, merrily on my way bypassing the world.
Sometimes Youll see whole squadrons of attack helicopters out questing, resource hunting or ganking.
And uh you go transmog hunting for your next trial of style Stefon.
Stay in classic!
Classic was first online game that had intention to push other games from market. It became successful because other games where garbage. So don’t use classic as valid comparison how game should be be.
You don’t have to fly in this game, and I not to mention what is there to play till shadowlands? Same crap every day just different toons
And the MMO’s I’ve played without flying had features to make up for it. Quick travel points where most of the flight points were, shorter(or none at all) cooldowns on Hearthstone like features, smallish zones, faster flight paths, better platforming to get to hard to reach areas, and it may not seem like it but my favorite that was introduced in SWTOR was mounting while moving(not sure if it’s in other games ) .
I would argue that the world is big enough that you could miss out on anything that’s happening in the same zone, whether you’re on the ground or in the air. And there’s always chat to announce such an event if people want to be seen. (I mean in-game chat, though stream chat works too.)
Just because one uses flying doesn’t mean they are not allowed to criticize it.
If that’s the case then anybody criticizing BFA whilst still playing it is a hypocrite by your logic.
So you are agreeing with the original poster but only for certain areas?
This.
I havent even unlocked flying in some expansions (wod and bfa) and it doesnt affect me much either
It’s the annoying timelocks and drip fed content that sucks, and the game lately in general. Tbh whether we access content from ground or flying doesnt matter if it all sucks lol.
Wq for example, if theyre depressingly all the same and terrible you wont really want to run or even fly there to do it lol.
You should argue they should design zones and world content with flying in mind but I think no one enjoyed the air/flying wq in legion, as we jus skipped to the end lol.
