Because I loathe the concept of pathfinder (NO, I will not do every conceivable thing on a ground mount just to get to farm from flight late in the expansion or when the content is totally trivial.
You know what though? That just means I don’t fly from WoD forward. Saves a whole lot of hassle in the end. I’ve learned to love the ground, well, unless it’s something like highmountain, but that’s uncommon.
You bet I fly in MoP on down though. Every new alt I say I won’t spend 9k on fast and faster flying but I always always do.
As for other flying characters, I don’t world pvp so I’d literally need to have my feelings hurt by someone sweeping down on a node, and pretty much that can’t even happen anymore. The node stays up unless you’re really unlucky, problem solved.
No matter how many times I crunch it, I refuse loremaster, I refuse superfluous rep. What do I need from proudmoore, 7th legion, order of embers, freakin’ tortollans? Nothin’. Not one single thing.
Wasting all those hours doing stuff I’d never ordinarily do so I can fly around the now completed world maybe herbing or mining doesn’t sound like a fair trade at all. Especially with the built in obsolescence. Rather just skip the pathfinder parts altogether and get on with the stuff I enjoy, it’s not like I can’t go on ore expeditions on the ground, and they are rather more interesting.
So no, flying doesn’t ruin the game, but at this point it personally adds me very little.
That’s a lot of words to say nothing. The reason I’m on this classic toon is because I literally cannot change toons on this site. It’s been bugged for months for me. And you really shouldn’t talk when you’re responding from a 110.
lol? I mean, they devoted an entire new system to WPvP but ok. Flying killed any fun involved in raiding an enemy city.
Are you high or have a death wish bruh? O_O;;; I like flight and it’s okay if it’s not your thing but the statement of flying ruining WoW is merely your opinion,not an absolute fact.
And here I thought people like me having WM off is why pvp is dead. Nope, it’s apparently because I enjoy flying, so this fella wants to take my flying away and force WM on me, so that he can have more targets.
Yea, I don’t pvp, and you can take a hike. Taking away my flying in some sort of pvp excuse will just make myself and a LOT of others quit. Then the game will actually be dead.

So why not just block flight in any form while in Warmode? Then you have no reason to complain. In PVE you can just not fly if you don’t want to and the rest of us can fly and you are not disadvantaged.
So don’t use flying mounts, or go play classic. Why are you here advocating for something to be taken away from others to accommodate your experience? pretty selfish

Last time I checked, I’m not instantly transported somewhere. I’m exploring the world, enjoying scenery, dodging things that want to kill me in the latest patch zones, and discovering hidden spots I didn’t know we’re up in mountains and whatnot.

Absolutely and entirely false. The extreme amount of lies and hyperbole in this statement is beyond ridiculous.
Which is why Burning Crusade has some of my very favorite questing zones ever made, Zones which are built around the players being able to fly, and are therefore much more impressive in both scale and design.
Sorry not sorry facts aren’t on your side. WoW was at its strongest when the game was designed with flying in mind and took its massive plummet when they didnt want to add it back.
It’s not exactly at the top of my priority list, I’m hardly concerned with convincing some forum people of some credentials. And it’s not a matter of fixing, I’ve literally completely reset my computer and it’s still the same.
Because that isn’t a thing. Flying up a mountain isn’t something worth designing around.
I’ve been stuck on my Classic characters on my PC all day. I looked up ways to fix it. There’s not much to be done. Relog and hope it works. I relogged. Couldn’t log back in. Finally got back in. Still stuck on Classic characters. On three different browsers.
