that is because a lot of people will be conned into thinking that IS flying. Ion literally said flying from day one in the expansion reveal.
It kind of is flying though.
you have the ability to control your movement in 3 dimentions, and can go up without standing on land.

No you’re wrong. I didn’t start the “no flying” garbage. It’s been going on long enough. The worms are out of the can and they ain’t gong back in.
I don’t care who flies or not. None of my business. But there are many that think they have the right to scream about "we shouldn’t fly. Okay, I’ve never said you all SHOULD fly, so why have a tantrum for those of us that want to fly. Ride your ground mount. No one says you have to fly. So stop with the anti flying crap and leave players alone to do as they wish playing the game!
If what I say hurts your feelings, you have issues.

I’ll wait to judge the new flying. It is a new system so it might kind of suck, I don’t have tons of faith in bliz’s ability to add new things to the game these days. Not being able to use my netherdrakes does suck.

This is my last comment on the matter: If you don’t like flying, find a game that doesn’t allow it. Run around or ride around as much as you wish. For me, and others that like to fly, just leave us alone to play the game as we wish. NO ONE SAYS YOU MUST FLY! Get it?

I’m not anti-flying. I’m anti-entitlement.
It has been the same in every xpac since WoD.
WoD development team we designed the world to be more engaging, and flying won’t be in this one xpac. 50% of the community is cool with one xpac no flying; pro flyers bang their fist on the table and demand flying.
Legion gets announced, says it’ll have pathfinder just like WoD. Same 50% that were cool with no flying in the previous one are okay with this; pro flyers once again bang their fist claiming they shouldn’t have to do that, but the are not given their want this time.
This same interaction repeats in BFA and SL, and amidst all of that, after they had complained on the form of how they get flying their complaining was renewed because of end game zones that didn’t allow flying in Legion and SL.
Move on to the next xpac Dragonflight. Blizzard announces you won’t have traditional flying you’ll have dragon riding. Again 50% of the player base are cool with it; pro flyers bang their fist on the table again shouting no I have to have my air swimming for superficial reason x,y, and z.
No one cares that you like flying; we’re tired of hearing you all whine because you think it should be part of every zone and xpac of the game because you like it.
If what I say angers you or hurts your feelings, then you have issues and should probably go play Flyff where it is all flying all the time.
I’m guessing the OP uses a flying mount inside the game (hypocrisy)
Anti-flyers don’t even practice what they preach, they are all flying around inside the game

Ah DA trolls are frolicking.
I’m 6 of one Half Dozen of the other on this.
Nazjatar is horrible horde side without flying. Same with doing things in Zuldazar.
Alliance side for Naz is fine, and the Harbor is nice and player friendly.
Then there’s the world zones with 10 bajillion agroing things that just get in your way, interrupt your ability to go to x or y, then there’s random feeling natural barriers that don’t feel like they would naturally be there but were just their to inconvenience the player.
The big reason people demand flight at all times now is due to the world design being hyper condenses and built around being antagonistic to the player first and foremost and not about being an enjoyable place to be.

OP, I think it’s ok to be grounded when leveling through the zones. I don’t think hardly anyone has an issue with that. This was the case in BC, Wrath, Cata, and MoP. But after levelling to max, flying should be available immediately like it was during the golden age of this game. By this point, we have seen the zones and should be able to use the mounts that we have earned in the past.
