But if the OP does that the outrage they so desperately crave won’t happen.
Why do you need this much attention?
I like flying. I don’t get how other people flying can detract from your experience.
Do you like world PvP, is that it? Because if so we even had stuff in place to address that such as nets, shells etc.
Flying improves my experience by a large margin.
Safe to say that flying isn’t the reason subs tank. It’s the quality and longevity of the world content.
Races are great lore wise, the character creation leaves something to be desired.
Where the game really falls down for me is the combat. This would be my go-to mmo if the combat was better.

If I could click the map anywhere to teleport there, I would still probably fly because it’s fun and I know how to do loop-di-loops now! Do you not know how to do the loop-di-loops? Is this post just because you’re jealous about the loop-di-loops?
It would be Kodansha instead
yeah…its pretty basic.
I guess that is better with wow too. The only thing I prefer about ES combat it the crosshairs and that whatever your fighting doesnt typically like insta-turn to face you. Seems to actually take physics more into account which, for me, feels more realistic.
I guess I wasnt thinking about combat. Yeah…ESO isnt as good for the most part.
It’s just got alot of issues for me. I like the action style, and limited action bar(s), but that’s about it.
well, Ion wanted flight gone and caved for a reason. I doubt it was anything short of tanking subs.
We have flying now. We had flying in BFA.
Where’s the huge popularity boost?
Shadowlands had a lot of issues that had nothing to do with flying. Especially the long content droughts.
lol…thats all well and good…and doesnt negate what I said…
I don’t know why but lately every time I read someone going on about “immersion” I have this almost uncontrollable urge to submerge them in a body of water for a little while.
It’s the new, “but my childhood.”
That’s my point.
Flying is neat, I enjoy it. But I refuse to believe it’s “the reason” why people leave. The lack of compelling, lasting content and the rise of convoluted and disconnect systems are more likely to blame.
I’m interested in them trying new things for Dragonflight, however. Hopefully we get to use our collection of mounts in the sky at a later point. But I doubt flying has as much of an impact on the game’s popularity.
Flying feels like the answer for when content has gotten stale and people just want to avoid the tedium of “experiencing” it anymore.
Exactly but these pro fliers really aren’t ready for that conversation.
Shadowlands overall is a bad example to use because it didn’t have flying for almost a year into the expac and mostly everyone left within the first few months.
It definitely was an impact on subs in WoD which is what people bring up often. Because they removed it, or admitting they never intended to add it that expac. And subs dropped, then a couple weeks later they re-added it in the form of Pathfinder.
