Well he’s wrong.
Flying was at a nice middle ground in The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King, where we got flying at max level.

I have no idea what I am being ignorant of. I love no flying. It is the source of a lot of enjoyment I get out of this game.
that isn’t a middle ground. That is completely on the side of flying.
You wouldn’t call 100% of something a middle ground.

No because you are flying yourself.
Taking a flight path is like taking a bus as opposed to flying yourself is like driving a car.

You have a choice to not fly when flying is available. Why don’t you choose to not fly so I can choose to fly?

And it’s a middle ground that slowly takes longer to get to. It’s going to take almost a year to finally fly in BfA.
Flying needs to be unlocked with the first major content patch, at the latest.

Could in WoD and Legion so yes. The ONLY no-fly zone post-pathfinder has been Argus.

This is the third expansion in a row with gated flying. You lost.
It would be one thing if flying had some type of mechanic or at least some kind of stamina limitation.
As it is, flight in WoW is a cheat, all they did was turn on no clip. It was lazy design and the level design and atmosphere outside of instances declined because of it. No clip style flight is bad for the game, its bad for level design, its bad for pvp, its bad for the economy.
Blizzard should do a full flight redesign, add stamina and some real flying mechanics so flight feels more natural and then they can enable at level cap like the old days.

That’s a good way to end up dead due to fatigue. Flying enforces more player participation in comparison to flight paths.

I agree. This would have been a better compromise than making us wait 6+ months until we’re already finished with all of the content we want flying for. I’m already burnt out on leveling and world quests, at this point flying wouldn’t make a difference for me.

What a stupid thing to say. You are basically telling me you know what I do and you don’t. We have flying in the arathi and darkshore areas even right now and I never do that there.

Not really, basically what I did when I had flying. get on your mount figure out direction and numb lock. Walk away from the computer.
