Flying is 'at a nice middle ground'

I don’t agree with your post

that is how people respond to pathfinder

Just as childish to dismiss his argument as wrong. From my experience he isn’t wrong. There is a lot of ways flight works against the game. I’ve done quests leveling up that flying just made kinda funny in the fact it feels like i’m using an exploit. Their compromise is that in time we can unlock the convenience in time. I think that’s a fair compromise.

Found Ion’s alt.

Anecdotal evidence is essentially worthless here. As a counterpoint, I literally know 0 people doing this.

The forums like to decry Blizzard for only caring about money. If that is true to literally any degree then they would not be intentionally making a bad business decision.

They have looked at the data and determined that flying is not that large a factor. That’s the reality of the situation.

This fantasy, again, that there are hundreds of quests in the game where you just fly over them and they instantly complete.

That’s not how the game works. You want to complete a quest, you have to LAND and do the objective.

I think the scaling in 7.3.5 and/or the length of time since has messed with your memories a bit :stuck_out_tongue:

Max level in Wrath was 80. Everyone could purchase flight at 77. The cost was 1000g for 150% flying (it had already been changed from the 60% it was at the start of BC). %280 speed was indeed 5000g but could be dropped to 4000g with the Alliance Vanguard or whatever it was rep.

You could spend another 5000g to get 300% flying (or get the Violet Proto Drake, earliest possible during Brewfest 2009 if you had done the rest of the holidays)

I agree you definitely wanted to get 280% as fast as possible.

As for Ion’s latest ridiculous comments, the way it is now is not a decent middle ground. Pathfinder part one completion would be a decent middle ground.

Gating it for months and months until part two is still stupid and spiteful. Nothing decent about it at all.

Edit: The ability to buy an item and let your alts fly early was added later in Wrath.

Ion isn’t even the one who removed flight. jfc

A compromise is an agreement between two parties. The players didn’t have a vote. Even when they pulled this crap in WoD Ion admitted that the majority of players wanted flying but they pushed their no flying nonsense anyway.

Nobody asked for this. The only reason there are anti-flying posts is because Blizzard created this issue in WoD.

We’re 8 months into BFA and we don’t even know when 8.2 will drop so it’s not “a bit”. Its WAY too long at this point.

Ion is the one talking about it.

ETA: Which is why my comments are directed at him.

For being the least alt friendly expansions ever it sure feels weird getting to roughly 400 IL in a week. I must be doing it wrong though.

That they have the data? They’re a multi million dollar company. Them NOT having the data would be more unlikely then them having it. In this case it would be on you to prove that Blizzard has absolutely 0 data on this.

You make a truly compelling argument.

Anyway, I’ve been leveling characters and was just questing in Icecrown. Back then the developers built the content around flying. They embraced it and made it part of the experience. Maybe that’s just too much to ask from the current devs.

He’s the one who announced it and defended it, in an interview with Polygon in 2015. Those are facts. How do you know he wasn’t the driving force behind removing it?

I’m glad there’s at least SOME wpvp going on these days.
Death to flying mounts.

Ion is currently blamed for every BfA issue because he is at the top. You can’t then blame him for older issues too just because he was the one who announced it and ignore the person above him who would have had to approve it. There’s a pretty large inconsistency with how you’re placing blame in that case.

People still play this game ??? Wowsers

You would have thought population would have died more I suppose not.

Does not matter lolz Hopefully they make Wow 2.0 or make Wow great again.

BFA= one of the worst expansions ever in terms of quality and everything also all these time gates like no flying.

I am not saying there have no data on it.

I am disputing this bs.

I blame any developer who announces and defends something, yes. And certainly somebody who says they’re ‘very happy’ with it 4 years later.

Trust me you don’t. I did a quest this morning where I had to loot bodies their ghost were defending. I could hover an inch off the ground and the ghosts just ignore me. Completed without landing. There are many quests that act similar.
