and they do seem to love their gold sinks.
We know you do, Ion. And it’s working! Keep designing a game players dislike.
I just don’t understand his mentality on the subject of flying and portal removals. If certain players hate flying and think it ruins the game, they have the option to not bother flying anywhere.
Making flying a tedious slog for everyone doesn’t benefit this group of players and only irritates pro flying players.
Furthermore, the same issue is prevalent with the recent portal massacre. If some players feel that using portals ruins the game somehow, they have the choice to never use them. Removing the portals entirely does not accomplish anything at all.
Now it’s time sinks to keep people subbed.
I love the WoD raids and dungeons.
But I AINT riding around on a ground mount trying to get to a few of them. Seems like more time getting their than it takes to run thru the dungeon itself.
Im missing an entire expansion because of pathfinder that doesnt need to be in old content to begin with.
I really don’t understand why we don’t have flying BFa at this stage … we have done all the zones , we are exalted with everyone many time over , we have no more quest lines . Let us fly and maybe we will spend more time boosting alts quickly .
Probably because Timeless isle is pre Pathfinder.
It is a nice middle ground if you don’t want flying in the game at all. Since he can still say there is flying for store mount sales, yet effectively not have it when people are in a position to make most use of it.
Just as childish to dismiss his argument as wrong. From my experience he isn’t wrong. There is a lot of ways flight works against the game. I’ve done quests leveling up that flying just made kinda funny in the fact it feels like i’m using an exploit. Their compromise is that in time we can unlock the convenience in time. I think that’s a fair compromise.
I worked my butt off for the gold to buy flying and the mount way back when. Then I come to WoD and I’m grounded. I still have rep and “securing draenor” to do to get my flight. I am not a happy person.
That’s really not what I said at all but thanks lmao.
We obviously have differing opinions but I said what I said. He comes across childish.
thats just it…‘THEIR’ compromise…not the player base.
They came up with it and shoved it on us.
WE werent compromising anything.
We just ate whatever crap they cooked up and were expected to choke it down with a smile.
Do you even read what you type or just babble?
They are letting you fly, in a bit. it’s a compromise, and the devs feel that no flying for half of a new expansion is fine especially when the map design is completely different than when flying was introduced in bc. Also world pvp is much better when people can’t just shadowmeld and fly away, pathfinder is fine in these modern expansions with flight whistles and tiny maps where flying isn’t needed.
personally I loved grinding the gold to pay for flight on my characters.
It was tangible. Not some faceless beast hiding in the rafters I couldnt see.
Thats part of why I hate PF. Its like some shadowy beast howling out in the dark woods somewhere that I dont actually want to see face to face.
Give me max level and gold and even a set date I can buy it any day over this PF crap.
That and just remove the idiocy from old content entirely. It doesnt belong there at all.
It’s not a compromise. You don’t fly in relevant content. It’s just an arbitrary time gating used as a manipulative mechanic to keep players paying in order to unlock a game feature.
As far as world pvp…if you turn on warmode you can’t fly. Wow, that was a complicated solution.
What he said is true though, they planned on having no flying but sub losses made them change their mind to this ‘pretend’ version we have.
It is costing them so much money though. In my guild we have a few people just starting back and that is because flying is close enough to happening they can just do what is required and then by the time they finish it they will have flying - no waiting 9 months for them.
Yeah. That was how peopled responded to now more flight ever,. not how they responded to pathfinder. They responded to pathfinder by coming back.
I remember getting tons of value out of flying during wrath, then cata, then mop. Tons of fun. Enjoyed all the content fully.
Do you? I was drawing the distinction between the general WoD decline (which was a thing) and the sudden mass-exodus after they announced “no flying again, ever”, which was SO bad that they had to do an about-face.
