Flying... Here's the truth

Right? That describes me fairly well. I am pretty anti-pathfinder at this point; I want blizzard to either give us a purchasable flight mode at level cap (for a reasonable, low price) or just remove flight from endgame content. I hate being that guy who doesn’t have it–not because I haven’t played enough to have it (if you combined the rep/wuest completions on my alts, I totally have it), but because my playstyle differs from their linear, prescribed game loop. And, the only reason I really mind not having it is that it makes grouping kind of awkward in some situations. That, and wpvp gets weird when you play against folks that have it…

But yeah, what you said.

I’m 2000 points to revered to get the path finder 2, but you obviously can’t see any business decisions in a game. You can’t even come up with a coherent arguement, and resort to outright dismissal which means that you have no argument at all.

I’m pretty sure wrath seen more sales than any other expansion. And flying wasn’t locked behind a year of crap content.

I’m pretty sure that the MMORPG genre was at it’s peak back then too, however, with the advancement of consoles, the FPS genre has taken over the market, just saying.

Time gates is now their subscription model to help reach their monthly active subscription quota. However, since they stopped releasing their subscription numbers, and Ion said he is making changes in Shadowlands that people complained about in BFA (like its alt friendliness), my guess is the player base woke up and this time gate model is no longer working.

We can only hope. But I know how stubborn office people can be lol if it looks good on paper they’re gonna send it. But when it comes to it … it’s blows hard.

Peak of the genre and they didn’t feel the need to gate flying. It was a freedom advertised to help the game and it did.

At this time the FPS genre was in it’s infancy

What does that have to do with anything?

Really? FPS like Doom, Quake, Goldeneye? Those were all in the 90s.

Reread my previous posts.

Which has nothing to do with Blizzard gating flying. Nothing in the slightest.

The time gate model is fading which you are right about. But I think Blizz is still holding out on it still for shadowlands but this feels like their last big push. If this last push with the time gate model fails to deliver I think it is discarded into the trash bin of history!

Pathfinder and the time gate has existed for 3 expansions. That’s all the proof you need.

Yes it does, due to players going through the content too fast. These developers have maintained this game at the top of it’s genre, despite the genre shrinking to the FPS. They have done this, while whatever you’ve done can’t compare whatsoever, you even play their game despite all of the complaints. Pathfinder is here, it’s not bad to get, except maybe the time frame of the second part. If you don’t even want to do the tasks that are required to get flight for the entire account, then that’s a you thing.

 That’s my only reaction to this. again. It’s a lame excuse. Players consume content as soon as it’s out regardless if flying is available or not.

Proof?

I play right now because there’s flying. I won’t be here at the start of SL.

I’d rather actually have fun doing those tasks…by flying like in the past. When wow was a much better game.

I’ve skipped flying since it stopped being an NPC transaction. No one has time for that crap.
