The bottom line it was never an issue until Blizzard made it one. it was in the game pretty much since the beginning. All the sudden it’s a problem?
So do you still not have flying OP?
There are several good articles on the history of flying in WoW on the web. People might want to read them to insure their comparison of then-and-now are accurate… because a lot of them aren’t.
BINGO! this person gets it! …over a thousand likes on this topic should tell you this Op gets it
Thanks for opening this topic back for discussion. It’s really a detriment to the game to keep important features like flying severely time-gated. Obviously the players are united on this issue as I never see posts with over 1k likes here.
Blizzard, please listen to your share-holders, I mean players. There’s no reason you should have to do hours of pointless content (reputations) to unlock flying. If you want us to play your story-line, fine, but don’t make us have to farm for weeks to gain an essential function. It’s outrageous and insulting. You should have confidence that your game has enough content and functionality to keep players interested besides pointless farming. It does!
Thank you!
I have it unlocked. And have for a while now. But if that’s all you got to say then see your way out of this discussion.
Earn flying with casual play they said… Yeah not gonna happen.
yup…had to literally grind for PF doing crap I ‘normally’ dont do…grinding out rep and crap, for instance.
which is asinine to begin with.
I play FAR more than MOST players do on a daily basis.
They shouldnt care if Im playing current content and running their gauntlet…what they should care about is my being logged in and playing.
PF irritates me enough to NOT log in and play…so its having the opposite effect on some of us.
And NO ONE is quitting if PF were removed…as evidenced by the fact that no one quit before it was put in place and demanded a new achievement to get flight.
So they screw the players who play causally but play a lot…and frankly just give another bragging right to those who’d have run all the crap to get flight anyway even if PF didnt exist.
It serves no real purpose but to annoy part of the playerbase.
Add me on battle tag brother
Hit right on the money.
I second that
You guys right now be playing for a long time then. Which is unhealthy for the game itself.

Hit right on the money.
Seconded. Pathfinder is the reason why I quit WoD, not a lack of content.
Was farming cloth in Talador on my priest one day and got stuck on some random projection trying to go over a hill for the umpteenth time… All of a sudden in my head I saw the smug faces and combative posts of the development team and thought, “you know what, to hell with this.”
Logged out then and there, didn’t come back until right before Legion.

That’s the position I’m in. I’m not buying SL until flying is unlockable in the game. However long Blizzard wants to hold it hostage is how long I’ll not play the game their way.
Bye Felicia! / wave

If they want to split Pathfinder into two parts, the first part should unlock flying on the initial zones, and be available from the start, and the second one should unlock flying for the new zones where the new reps are obtained.
This right here is the most important point on this whole thing.
There is absolutely zero reason that PF part 1 should not allow flight the day you complete the requirement.
I do not want to hear:
A. “But other players”: You know what? I do not care anymore. These same players had the same amount of time to get the achieves done. They want flying, they’ll do the achievements.
B. “But mah farming”: in case some of you have not noticed: this is a moot point. the danged points are shared now and with the restructuring of the AH, this is even more of a moot point.
C. “But mah PeeVeePee’s”: Warmode exists. Your warmode has nothing to do with my PvE playstyle now. Getting ganked because you want the leveling in warmode incentives and the guy that earned his right to fly is ganking you? Well, turn off warmode.
D. “Nobody’s in the world because everyone is flying”: no, nobody is in the last patch zones because they are currently trying to get the second half of PF done for the new zone’s patch.
There’s zero excuse to withhold flying in those areas the very day I earn stupid PF1. Every single argument I’ve heard against flying has been currently addressed by these three things. The last one is directly Blizzard’s fault.

“Nobody’s in the world because everyone is flying”:
A nonsensical argument, since flying neither phases us “out of the world” nor does flying allow us to complete most world objectives, because most world objectives require combat, and mounted combat is a no-go. About the only thing which can be done while mounted is gathering, and if I’m gathering it means I want some mindless relaxation, so I’m going to ride right past and ignore you whether I’m on the ground or in the air.
Doesn’t know what he/she is talking about.
The only reason flying has been implemented is the devs hatred towards it.

The only reason flying has been implemented is the devs hatred towards it.
I kinda wish theyd just go full tilt and remove flight so I could finally have a reason to just quit WoW entirely and go play my ESO accounts.
Kinda ironic that a game without flying is actually easier to travel than a game with flight.
Stupid decisions that doesn’t benefit anyone.
