For me personally, flying has gotten much harder. There was a time when you only had to pay a huge amount of money to get trained to fly, but the rep thing is not a BAD idea, its just a bit excessive. It punishes you really, really, REALLY hard if you take a wow break. I never got flying on the broken isles because I had life difficulties and couldn’t keep up my subscription. When i got back into wow again, I felt really sad and kind of left-behind because everyone I knew could fly but not me.
Bumping this post until they stop the war on flying.
You sell flying mounts in your damn store ffs.
It is a very punishing system for new and returning players. We have to see how the mess that is PF is handled in shadowlands.
cant even begin to imagine the irony in Blizzard I mean all that talk bout principles and integrity goes right out the window when they use flight as a marketing tool but yet they claim its the very thing that ruins the games immersion
The Shadowlands PF will be…
1.Unlock all Previous pathfinders.
2. Exalted with all new factions
3. 1 million gold for Death flying
4. 100,000k of the new currency for the only flying mount usable in shadowlands…
5. AOTC in all new raids…
I agree with you 100%, OP.
no itll be more like this to unlock flight
you must first prove yourself worthy now go out and farm 300 of this rare flower but I must tell you that it only blooms like once per week in the most remote and dangerous parts of this zone and will most likely be surrounded by the fiercest of monsters you can only carry one at a time and if you fail to bring it to me in 30 min or less the flower withers and you must seek out a new one and you can only bring me 5 per day before the pollen becomes too toxic to handle for your delicate senses
also you MUST handle it gently mounting up will be too damaging to it the flower is quite fragile so it must be carried by hand which also means no combat or you risk destroying the flower
Once you unlock flying in Shadowlands…
The Shadows from the Great Shadowy Place will dismount you if you get within 300 yds, and also randomly break one piece of equipment.
Sometimes, it might Shatterforge and break all of your equipment.
Do not give them any more stupid ideas…
yeah no kidding I mean the one time they actually read the forums
Can we compromise and just have flying once we hit LV cap?
what and be forced to admit pathfinder failed? man Watcher would sooner eat broken glass rather than say he made a mistake
Blizzard will never get us to hate flying, we will just quit if they keep on this pathfinder crap
I’m not buying SL until flying is available. I’m not going to spend a year on the ground like I did with BFA. I would rather just not play than be forced to play on the ground for a year. BFA was my breaking point with their horrid treatment of flying.
The horrid treatment of the playerbase.
Nazjatar without flying = worst zone
Nazjatar with flying = best zone
Mob density was taken into a whole new level.
Every square inch.
And plus the the mob lease was so long it made it almost impossible to get away
Yeah. Stupid ideas is why I’m a playable race.
I mean, I’m not sure how that has anything to do with the flying conversation, but whatever.
I have seen a few comments on this thread that I agree with. One of my life mottos is that, “extreme in either direction is bad,” and I can appreciate when there is a middle-ground or compromise to be achieved.
- I like flying, since it helps me get to the good stuff faster. Eliminating flying, to me, is an extreme decision, and is no longer right for the game.
- Making players wait until patch x.2 is a bad timegate for most people.
- If they want to split Pathfinder into two parts, the first part should unlock flying on the initial zones, and be available from the start, and the second one should unlock flying for the new zones where the new reps are obtained.
- Some games offer a choice between single-character unlocks and account-wide unlocks. I think this is the perfect place for that. Gold for the single-character unlock at max level, or work towards a goal to unlock it for the entire account.
- Introduce more areas like Netherwing, quests like the Sha’tari Skyguard bombing runs, and other things to encourage people to fly once they reach max level. Granted, as with anything, if there are decent rewards tied to it, there will be complaints that you made them fly when it’s not fun.
- Lastly, there are a lot of things to rage about in the world today, but a video game should probably not be at the top of your list. Most people are just trying to do a good job. Whether they can or not, due to skill or outside influence, is speculative, unless you know them. Speaking in hyperbole or hypotheticals, or personal attacks, don’t usually help your case, so try to view things objectively, and you might be able to present a solid foundation for your topic. For those who already do this, I salute you.
