I don’t feel like this at all. So many of my alts have benefitted from this, that I don’t mind having the account-wide unlock. My new disappointment is that I used to be able to fly immediately upon entering Outland, Northrend, Pandaria, Draenor, Legion, and BfA zones, that going there at 10 feels like a step backwards, since I can’t fly until 30. I feel like Pathfinder could be a cool way to give an extra boost to those who complete it, as long as flying is available to everyone for gold, like Ground Mount unlocks are.

I absolutely hate rep grinds and avoid them like the plague unless there’s something I really want. Doing 4 reps at a time is a non starter for me so I won’t see flight in Shadowlands for a very long time unless they decide to change the reqs.

When it comes to the flying debate all I’m going to point to is the fact Ion in Wod said flying was history and an unprecedented situation happened where he had to take his foot out of his mouth and reverse that decision fairly quickly. To have to publicly change his stance that fast probably indicates most players including myself do indeed like flying and not killing 20 bs trashmobs to get to our destination because of some weird ground fantasy.

I think Ive finally figured out one thing that could make me stop playing Shadowlands and just go run old content again. If blizzard said they understand the PF issue finally, so based it on renown instead of reputation…then they turn around and add in a dozen other irrelevant garbage grinds to get PF.
I think that’ll be the last straw for this expansion, which is already starting to ‘grind’ on my nerves anyway with this anima crap.

Are you not playing content or what? I have 3 60s and we’re only several days into the week, not even the weekend yet, and they’re almost all done with their anima grinds from simply playing a few M+s and doing the odd world boss.

obviously in order to know the anima costs and irritation thereof I kinda HAVE to be playing the game

If you don’t PvP, M+, or raid, then calling World Quests, the content you have left to do, “grinding” feels very strange. If your main source of content is a grind, I couldn’t fathom continuing to play. I guess that’s why you’re on the fence about quitting, you’re barely playing the game.
Flying is still one of the most fun immersive parts of the game. 6 month wait is fine, then give us a few options to get it. A grind and a mount and flying or gold and flying, but no mount.

If I didn’t enjoy Mythic+ in Diablo 3 (greater rifts), I won’t enjoy it here.
Grinding prison keys was my favorite activity in Burning Crusade. I’m glad they brought that back in the form of Atonement Crypt Keys. It’s all I do now, and I love it.
Flying is the best thing added to WoW.

It’s been a major part of the game from it’s introduction. The anti-flyers are a small group of sociopaths.

Anti-fliers love walking around in game and them jumping on GD, since walking around is only fun for a limited time.

I totally agree. For the first time since I started playing WoW in WOTLK, the Forums are far more fun than what is going on in game.

They have so much fun walking around everywhere they have to come to GD to dictate that everybody else must walk and have fun their way.

I personally hate Pathfinder, and refuse to do it. I hate the fact that they decided to put a basic feature of the game that’s been there since TBC behind a rep grind. I want flying to go back to the old way of obtaining it.
