Fixing One Aspect of Mythic+ : The Solution

Now you sound like my ex-wives

once it becomes a useful stat, I guess

I feel like we could all agree to this.

There is one problem that hasn’t been solved though… How do you identify these “trash people”?

There are 2 extremes to consider:

  • the “trash person” doing half the performance they should or constantly failing mechanics
  • the “trash person” who bails out at the first small hiccup

Most players don’t want the be held hostage for an hour in a dungeon by a Donald (see dark legacy comics), nor do they want their keys bricked for no reason due to a hothead dropping out too early.

This problem is so nuanced and has so many caveats and “what ifs” that it is nearly impossible to create an automated model that would be fair to everyone.

This is gonna be abused so bad. Votekick a player and get a chad bot who interrupts all the right spells and always does optimum DPS rotation. The Follower Dungeon bots carry so hard.

Which is why it will never happen. Sadly, most of the “fixes” for issues can be abused, so Blizz just figures “leave it broken long enough and they will stop abusing things.”. Either way has no affect on me and my Solo game :blue_heart:

Lol, you know WoW players… Even the most well-intentioned fix can and will be abused by min-maxers and people without a conscience.

I don’t even think this particular instance requires any malice. You just go in with no intention of bringing that extra player, say they’re someone’s random alt, then they leave and go back to what they were doing.

Heck why even involve anyone else, have 4 friends log alts and join your key then go back to what they were doing. Now 4 AI bots replace them and you get a robot carry.

There should be no mythic gear track from any source. Mythic progression should be skill based and for glory.

The afk/removal aspect is unnecessary just let the party kick as they already can. However, I love the idea of bots replacing missing players. I have felt this should be the case as well.

I can see Bots being used for completion runs, but not if you are going for time. Timing keys should not have a free pass to be done. By that same token though, any reason why, if tie key is overtime when someone leaves, a bot can’t come in to complete the dungeon?

Why should completion runs have free passes either?

I am just seeing it more as, time runs out, someone leaves, bot comes in to finish the dungeon.

Keep in mind, this alos opens the door for the bot to be the same as a more “average” player, like they don’t interrupt everything or mess up some mechanics but still complete the dungeon.

And if more than 1 person leaves?

Personally, I’d limit it to 2 bots, I.E. it still has to be a majority human player group to count for anything.

So, 3 dps can just have a healer and tank meet all the requirements of those roles without risk of failure?

Depends on what you consider failure, for some not timing=FAILURE. Really, I started this thought because one reason people leave is key is over time, at that point, especially if it is at the point no one would get score, does it really matter if it is humans or bots in the group?

Not healing or tanking to meet the checks. Or are you giving a bot that can’t meet the healer requirements.

Ultimately, it’s just a non-starter. It is group content, it is not built for bots to carry you and shouldn’t get to use bots

One that can meet the requirements, if everyone does as they should.

Funny, as one reason I was looking for it as an option, after the key was nto timed, was because someone woudl be dropping because THEY WERN’T being carried

It’s irrelevant if it is meeting the timer or not, it’s still giving loot. And it’s still group content

Oh wow, someone thought this is a good idea. Now I know this poster is worth disregarding for the future.
