Fixing One Aspect of Mythic+ : The Solution

So what, time a +9, get a 10. And despite the 10 being harder to complete for vault, it’s actually free because bots will carry you to the end.

You just completely lost every halfway decent player that plays the game instantly with this. I’ve been playing this game for a good number of years now, quite literally probably many thousands of keys now, and this problem you guys all claim exists is just not happening. Absolutely nobody leaves keys for no reason. You may not agree with their reason or even notice it, but that doesn’t mean it’s not there. This is 100pct a skill issue.

The ideal random group is full of overqualified people that will carry. If that aspect were more consistent, would the game be more positively received?

(Yes, it turns everything into a joke because of guaranteed success via AI.) But it’s a thought experiment.

If overqualified people decided to list themselves in a key, usually, they’re invited.

Although given the present situation, is the high point of the game actually failing a key? (Cause that would be the functional difference.)

M+ Title would be … something else. Not sure if it’s workable under a guaranteed to succeed key system.

You’ve lost everyone. This system literally allows the group lead to brick your account for a full week

Keys aren’t sacred. No one’s account is bricked for a week.

I wasn’t even addressing the rest of the crap he wrote. Just that one paragraph alone is a hard no from anyone with thumbs.

But it would be bricked until maintenance if they allowed the system being talked about two replies up

But that post also gives a fancy spiel about people being replaced by AI.

Thus new way is to afk for 60 seconds to leave.

I wish you would. In fact, I would pay you to put me on ignore and stop stalking my week old threads.

Stalking you? You’re the OP, and someone posted in it. And it’s four days old.

and yet MY post was the one you tagged,

Because it’s the very first post in the thread? duh?

You could have posted anything constructive, but instead in your usual way were passive aggressive with the comment about liking the idea and then pointing out someone worthy of disregarding. Just another excuse to be a jerk instead of actively discussing the topic and debating your position.

If the bot can fill in and time the key then whoever it replaced was just a troll. Any half competent player should out perform the bot.

Whether they out perform the bot is irrelevant. Also the person who left doesn’t have to be a troll, they could easily be a person all 5 (including the one leaving) people had no intention of finishing the dungeon with. Why bring a real healer who might not be good enough when you can invite someone with the explicit purpose of them leaving after and getting a bot replacement.

Why do a +10 with people and risk not being able to finish it when you could make a group with people, they can leave, and bots can carry you to the finish line.

AI replacing players in group content designed to be failable does not work.

The fact the idea is so bad that it would be very obviously supported exclusively by people who want to troll groups is constructive. It is an idea that is asking, nay, begging to be used to grief people, to the point where there’s really nothing worth discussing about the idea. It is unsalvageably flawed.

Let players take the bot from the start if they want. The bots will not perform at the level a competent player will.

But if the bot is competent enough to complete the content why would it matter? And if it’s not then why add it in the first place?

AI replacements in non trivial PvE content do not work.

If you are in a key and on last boss or something and a player leaves, having a bot to slog through for a finish would make a large number of players happy. It’s not gonna be as good as a competent player to go around timing keys with bots but could allow players to get some reward for large time commitments.

I mean… Yeah. Failing to do something and being rewarded for it anyways is sure to make people happy. They’re being rewarded where they previously wouldn’t be.

Rewarding people for failing to time a key is one thing, rewarding them for failing to complete it altogether (By giving them AI party members that are by design capable of completing it) is another thing entirely.
