I mean i’ve been negative about everything BFA tbh. minus the raiding since i still enjoy that.
but people have their own opinions. doesn’t mean they are shills, slaves or toxic.

Honestly, in the old days, I would maybe post occasionally, and spend most time reading. I probably would have logged out like two hours ago even today.
It’s a more recent phenomenon that every thread becomes a sudden back and forth between two people. Like, I’ll shut up when you shut up.
Regarding Reddit, I find the people there are actually sensible and discuss the game in an honest manner most the time. As a result, I find myself mostly just reading rather than posting.
I’m a whale; what’s truly sad for Blizzard is how much I used to spend on this game versus now.
Oh, this old argument. This used to be said often for people who felt raiding was too much of an investment, and then people said they must be failures in real life because they aren’t applying real world attitudes to a VIDEO GAME.
I keep my real world and my virtual world separate, and have different expectations for each. For one thing, I don’t expect to do as much work in a video game as I do in real life, that’s for sure.
I turned all my attacks into macros and added /pet attack to them.
Their pet AI is terrible and mostly has been. Main reason I’ve been MM/LoneWolf since it became available.
Well, playing bm hunter in a RBG, with only hunter shots because my pet is somehow on the other side of the map in a mage ring of frost.
I mean it’s not an old argument. you complain that someone is doing better than you because they use tools… and you don’t.
It was also an analogy.
nothing about being a failure or anything like that… but imo. if you want to play like a good player, you have to follow a few simple guidelines.
the point is that addons and weak auras and such don’t make you a better player. they just help you organize. Most people that are great usually have very minimalist UI’s.
There’s really many issues of pathing still in the game. For example, Timewalking MoP, Siege of Niuzao Temple; Commander Vo’Jak. When he summons the Amberwing in (Hovering Wasp looking mob) many times my FG’s attacks, MY attacks, such as Soul Strike, will not fire, and that’s due to pathing issues and those exist in quite a few places, the /petattack is not the issue, we, at least I, know how to get my minions on target.
Op,glad you brought this up.I notice the same thing happening with my hunters pet even on assist.
I think the point I was trying to make was badly communicated because I do agree with your statement.
What I’m really saying is that it’s kinda amazing how much needs to get added into the game just to basically be functional. The things being added, like weak auras, often feel mandatory, and I honestly wish Blizzard would just improve UI instead. It frustrates me. You are right most top players, use a minimalist UI, I do as well, but you actually have to basically download a bunch of things just to make it possible.

We laugh because it’s based on truth and simultaneously ridiculous.
So when we discuss using a macro to help PET AI, it’s less about needing to use a macro, and more a frustration that Blizzard won’t just fix their PET AI and instead forces me to find an alternative solution.
anyone else read the OP title with Nathanos’ voice?
Attack macro, hmm should try that better than a pet just stand there.
Well, as someone who has been afk for 8 years till a month ago…
There are a lot of things that are “hidden”.
I can’t even imagine being a totally new player.
ie. I’d love to see my mom try and play this game.
not every game is for everyone.
pretty sure she wouldn’t be playing sekiro shadows die twice very well either.
skill gaps between players exist. just because there is a mythic raid doesn’t mean everyone should be able to do it.
people need a challenge.
Fix definitely needed. On the Blockade fight my pet ghoul doesnt show up when i teleport off the boats to fight Laminaria. Ive had to adapt by dismissing my pet then resummoning once i tp. I mean before we start the fight, my ghoul pops up whenever i fly to the boats. Why cant it conisistantly follow me back when phase 2 starts?
(Tbh, with the next raid around the corner, i dont care too much, hopefully the next raid is more pet friendly)
No, but everyone should be able to reach the skill level needed.
I love sekiro, as well as the dark souls series and similar games. They are like solo player raid bosses. With enough practice and skill, you can get bosses down.
In contrast, mythic raid tiers are completed by less than 0.01% of the playerbase, and it’s considered too much, so the subsequent raid is made even more difficult, out of reach by even players who defeated the previous raid tier.
Mythic raiding isnt separating the milk from the creme, it takes the cream and then dumps half of that as well. It’s not enough to just be skilled, you also have to be among the top 0.01% most skilled players in the game.
Difficulty for difficulty’s sake doesnt make something popular. Difficulty combined with being able to overcome those challenges makes it enjoyable.
People enjoy dark souls because you can eventually reach a skill level where it’s beatable rather than simply being nearly impossible to complete. Many people avoid mythic raiding because they dont expect to beat the raid tier no mater how much effort they put in. That’s a key difference.
In short, The main difference between those games and mythic raiding is the former expects more than 0.01% to be able to do it.
This is a close second why I think the new demo is absolute trash since legion.
Im not arguing that they should dumb down Mythic, and agree it should be for people who put in the time and effort. But when less than 0.01% are completing it, then you have to assume that even people who put in the time and effort for failing to beat it.
Like, that was my whole point. You dont beat Sekiro or dark souls without time an effort, but Im pretty sure more than 0.01% who buy the game are able to beat it.
I also dont get why every counter-argument needs to be the other extreme. I’m not saying the completion rate should change to 100%, but 0.01% is also too low. Wouldnt 10, 5, or even 1% be acceptable?
