Fix Toxic Dungeon Kickers

Remove the deserter debuff from people being kicked. They didn’t desert the group. They were forced to leave due to silly and/or selfish reasons.

Aaaaaaaaaand there needs to be a limit or punishment for abusing the kick system. Too many people are now kicking simply because they want loot a boss drops. Two hunters in a group and you want the bow that drops from the final boss? No problem, kick the other hunter and it’s all yours. You win and now the other hunter has to wait 30 minutes.

Kicking is meant for DCs, AFK people, and maybe jerks. It wasn’t meant for selfish people to get the loot they want or to kick someone for making a mistake.

It’s said that most people playing WoW are adults and probably 30 years old or older and yet they are acting like children. Blizzard really shouldn’t have to fix the kick system but here we are with adults acting like children.

Please step in and fix this issue, Bliz.

Sincerely,
Everyone that’s been kicked from a dungeon for no reasonable reason

Just get gud!

deserter buff should be only 5 minutes for dungeon, maximum, this is enough time to enforce the ability to remove abusing the system of fishing for particular desired heroics being efficient

They should increase the timer to 1hr!

It’s hostile-anti-player game design, like most blizzard’s timegating game design. It’s a turn off, especially for a 20 year old game we’ve already done a hundred times over. Some things should be made easier, like accessibility things, an increase in difficulty can be good too if it’s like boss mechanics to assert a real challenge but just hostile game design that allows players to be punished for not even doing anything wrong is the type of thing why people that might would have given playing the game a chance, it keeps them away, i tell my older brother about all the flub ups happening and he’s like “thank God i decided not to waste my time on that then”

Wrong. Most people playing Classic are bots and gold sellers.

Majority of the time when someone gets kicked they deserve it.

The situation you’re describing is rare enough that it doesnt warrant taking away the punishment for people being toxic or AFKing through a dungeon.

Under the current system, yes, people can abuse the system and kick people, and quoting a blue post from 1 year ago is not relevant to the OP. The OP is pointing out the abuse and asking to change the current system.

yeah i’ve never had it happen to me in classic yet, i have been a part of kicking someone, he was botting because on the damage meter he was lower than the healer, it’s not just that he wasn’t good he literally was just running up autoattacking and not using abilities so the team decided to vote kick him, usually i refrain from vote kicking unless there’s a reason like if they have been offline for a few minutes and unlikely to come back or something

Go on…

Actually, it’s exactly relevant. The OP is criticizing the system’s behavior, and the blue post defines that behavior. You don’t get to argue the system is broken while ignoring the official explanation of how it’s supposed to work. That’s like complaining about a law and saying the legal statute isn’t relevant.

Sure. Abuse can happen in any system with player agency. But the solution isn’t to strip that agency it’s to contextualize it. The blue post makes it clear:

And that’s fine feedback is valid. But let’s not pretend the system is malfunctioning. It’s functioning exactly as designed. If you want to advocate for change, you need to argue why the design philosophy should shift not just that it hurt your feelings.

  • Want stricter kick limits? Propose thresholds.
  • Want post-kick review? Suggest a reporting mechanism. But don’t dismiss the blue post as “irrelevant” when it’s the foundation of the system you’re critiquing.

Bottom line: You can’t argue abuse without acknowledging intent. The blue post isn’t outdated it’s the blueprint. If you want to change the architecture, you need more than anecdotes. You need a case that respects the original design and shows why it no longer serves the community.

What the ook are you babbling about?

Nobody is required to play with anyone else.

Exactly. Sucks getting a 30 minute deserter debuff because another class didn’t want you to roll on their item but that’s how the system works.

I’d recommend op queue as a pre made from now on and use the system to his advantage. It’s really rare so it’s not going to change anytime soon. Just vote kick other people when they may roll on your loot you need.

This is how the system was designed. Those other people should have just picked different classes or queued as a pre made if they didn’t want to risk the 30 min debuff for doing nothing wrong.

Well, the alternative is that nobody gets any debuff for leaving.

Cute, but if you’re getting kicked from dungeons often the problem is you. Hope that helps.

It’s happened to me once since mop started and I whispered the person why was I kicked. I was top dps by a lot and didn’t type a single thing in chat. They responded i would roll on sword other warrior needs. 30 minute deserter timer.

Now I just queue pre made and can kick others instead. I haven’t had a single kick fail yet and I always win the loot I need when it drops. Don’t hate the player, hate the game. No deserter debuff for kicks sounds better but this what we have so I’m going to use to the same way others used it against me.

New meta. Go in with 3 and keep booting loot sharers lmfao

100% Just wait till next week when the H+ dungeons launch and these players try doing those and get kicked even faster!
