You do NOT run Sac Shield as ret. You can run Fanat. Itâs about crit on gear then, and whether crit heals on flash is worth it. But flash heals for 300 or less as ret EVEN when using the libram in PVP. So uh, not going to make a massive difference.

What buffs have paladin received? The only change they did was make the twist last for 6 seconds. Even if they nerfd it to 2 seconds, i would still use it and you would still rage. It used to be .400 milliseconds. What about paladin is OP? The fact we can seal twist? Lol

Are you talking about since Classic Classic? You said that twisting was ok because itâs been in the game before. Since that time, a mechanic that was a BUG and not intentional design has become a part of the game alongside the increase in damage, stats, and access to instant attacks for paladin. When I say buffs I mean from Classic to SoD.
But I am not raging, I am making a statement. Seal twisting in 1v1 with all the tools tht paladins have in SoD IS too powerful. In that specific situation. Itâs an unintended game bug that has been allowed to remain for a PVE mechanic that has an adverse interaction with burst damage in small scale 1v1 PVP. That shouldnât be a controversial take, and I main a paladin.

Right now my lhw rank 3 (I learnt it at lvl 36) has the same healing potency as my FoL rank 6 (I learnt it at lvl 58).
My lhw rank 4 (lvl 44) is better than my FoL rank 6.
To hope to reach the power level of LHW you must sacrifice the head slot rune, the back slot rune and the boots slot rune. And even with these runes you still need a crit FoL to reach the full potential (fanatiscism hot + sacred shield hot).
Now the ugly part :
- Sacred shield is a magic buff.
- Fanatiscism is a magic buff.
- FoL hot is a magic buff.
- You lose the melee crit conversion for exorcism.
- You lose the 2 sec cd reduction on exorcism for every successful melee crit.
- you lose the 80% mana reduction cost on exorcism.
- You lose the dot on righteous vengeance.
I have a genuine question for you. When you play a class that revolves around magical buffs to dps/survive and most of your time you encounter an overrepresented class that can dispel those buffs on the opposite side⌠Do you really want to waste your resources on insignificant buffs ?
Imagine if paladin could dispel every weapon imbue AND every shield (lightning/ water / earth) with a ranged ability wtih nearly no mana cost. Would you waste more resources on them ?
The possibility to seal twist martyr and command maybe ? Because you couldnât twitst SoC and SoM at first and martyr didnât exist 20 years prior to SoD.
Or the T1 6 pc bonus that let you seal twist more easily and judge 2 seals at the same time.
Or the T2 2 pc bonus preventing seals to be consumed.

is not a buff, its a set bonus on gear, and being able to twist SoC and SoM was implemented in way earlier phases. Shamans have received far more âbuffsâ than a paladin has Overall in SoD. Paladins have been nerfed more than Shamans have

And SoC/SoM seal twisting was introduced during phase 3 so not so far in fact.

THis is literally how paladin works. Imagine fighting disc priests shamans and mages in tbc and wrath as a paladin lots of fun. I will say that ret needs sanctified seals but the other stuff should be purgable.
Yeah enhâs one good match up is vs ret because ret doesnât have sanctified seals. Ret is still better than enh over all. Also I guess the only class you ever see any time in PvP is a shaman or a priest. good to know.
And also this has never been me saying paladins are OP. This started out because some pseudo int BUM said that enh only received 1 pvp nerf which is FALSE. And then he kept moving the goal post to appear correct because that is what pseudo int BUMs do. And yeah I think ret has way more healing capability than enh. LHW rank 6 base healing: 832-928
Flash of Light rank 6 base healing: 348-389
From the start, LHW heals over twice what flash of light heals. Even if you have Sac Shield (which you wonât because itâs hard countered by purges, of which every shaman has) and fanaticism, youâre only getting ON PAR with LHW healing when you crit with FoL AND over time. Meaning that itâs just a worse heal. Thatâs math.
Point being proven again. FoL heals for 280 as ret in PVP, less than half what LHW heals. And if paladins have such easy access to a 1.5 second heal, SO DO SHAMAN.
The dot damage is a significant amount of boosted damage when combined with the extra crit when facing tough enemies. Itâs a trade off. You can run fanat/divine light, fanat/Righteous Vengeance, or Wrath/Vengeance. The latter is a little weaker imo as 18% crit on heals is just better. But itâs not amazing either. Itâs very mid. Getting healed for 18 every second isnât going to keep the shaman from hitting me with 1800 lava bursts to death. And then another 900 from their overload proc.
You 1000% need the mana cost reduction and cooldown reduction on exo for PVP. Tell me that youâve never played a paladin without telling me youâve never played a paladin.
