No, in just about every game ever, you organize a group to play other organized groups
Hence why RTS games have a separate queue for “arranged teams” and the ones that don’t, attach a ton of hidden MMR to anyone who group queues in order to ensure a competitive match
Why not just go grab 2 friends and 3v1 gank someone in silithus who’s fighting a mob for “fun”? About the same thing as premade vs pug in WoW. And before you say that your matches vs pugs are competitive, that means your premade is terrible

No, and it’s not good for the health of the game. It’s very bad for the health of BG’s in ways that the “world buff meta” is not for PvE
The “world buff” and “parse” culture of PvE is not causing people to give up on PVE like the premade meta is causing people to give up on BG’s. Not nearly to the same degree
If I had to rank WOW classic’s biggest issues that are costing the most subs it would be:
Botting
Gold buying not being policed (at all)
Premade meta ruining solo BG’s

fix premades in pvp guise. game broken blizz pls fix. how is it fair that when i just casually que into arathi basin i get 2500/0 and get camped at graveyard? how is it fair that other players can que into the same battleground system but be teamed up? let me explain it for you. you got like 100 guys in discord, they all que in waves every 5 min or so. whichever game each dude in discord ends up in, thats the room they move to in discord. then if enough of the discord guys end up in the same room, they play out the match. if they dont, they dont accept the match and wait for the next que wave. its literally that simple, and its 100% on the discord side. its impossible to oust premades because the system in place is not designed to differentiate between good or bad players.
Exactly, if this was a remake of vanilla, you wouldn’t have mega servers, wouldn’t have xrealm bgs. Your team and name would stand for something in bgs. As it is now, nobody cares what you do, because there is too many to care about.
So since the game has both, mega servers and xrealm bgs, they should step in a solve the problems they aren’t allowing servers to handle on their own accord through pvp struggles.
I honestly don’t believe the system is flawed, it was perfectly fine if one or two teams dominated a server. It made sense. But when you have some servers ahead or behind or more/less pop, the variation of player base in bgs effects how your server has to play.
That is a good point, but there is a difference. The changes to the queue system would have be more involved. Myself and others on the forums have come up with what appears to be the best possible iteration, and that would require some sweeping changes to the system, moreso than some tweaks to a single battleground
What exactly defines a premade? Obviously queueing with a friend and being put into a separate queue where 15 players are queueing at once wouldn’t be fair. So the fairest way to define a premade would be any number of players equal to or greater than half the BG. So 5 or more in WSG and 8 or more in AB. Anything under that would still be placed in solo queue. Even this would be open to abuse though, as queueing with 3 people in WSG or 6 in AB would become the new “meta”
Why would anyone want to premade at that point? Premade matches tend to go longer, and if people could guarantee PuG vs PuG then the bottom of the skill ladder of premades would continue to quit doing premades until there was no one left doing premades. Therefore, changes would have to be made to incentivize players to still premade queue. This would require more honor/win and honor/loss and honor/kill for premade matches. This change would keep the premade queue healthy, ideally as healthy as the solo queue
These changes are big, and therefore that much more unlikely. Simply separating pug and premade queues sounds good on paper but when you consider the ramifications it would not work out as well as people hope
The alternative would be to keep the queues together but heavily prioritize the matchmaker to attempt to match premades to premades and pugs to pugs. This could also possibly kill the incentive to premade, but it also might create queue times which players find to be too long
