Iâm in this boat too. Itâs endlessly entertaining watching people who are foaming at the mouth levels of angry about it try to string together a rational-seeming set of arguments.
To be perfectly frank: itâs actually pretty rare when I do that. Extremely rare, pretty much doesnât happen.
I honestly donât recall doing that.
Story:
I used to spend a lot of time on my hunter trying to get Revendrethâs Mount. I eventually just got tired of trying and started playing alts.
Itâs dropped 1 time in the almost 19 years Iâve played this game. I rolled a 1.
The winner was a new player. I congratulated them and went on with my life.
I might go back and try to farm it again.
No, I know Iâm not entitled to loot. All of the adults in this conversation get that.
Just because itâs pretty just isnât a valid reason to a lot of people.
I love my transmogs, I get your argument. But maybe be considerate of why a person might be asking you for that piece.
Even I have times where I have to double check what I have on before rolling on an item.
But something I noticed (because I had never done some of the old raids the last few expacs): you actually seem to have better chances going back when youâre overgeared for it. My DH seems to be collecting a lot of leather from prior expacs.
So maybe I can finally go get that stupid horse.
Cause I can get bored. Again, I could always go run it next patch if Iâm really bored.
The looks arenât going away. Theyâll be there for at least 6 more expacs. Some people are actually there because they are trying to get gear.
I still defend GL over PL, but seeing how the playerbase behaves illogically I think Iâm conceding that they need saved from themselves and PL should be forced in pugs and ML an option for guilds like Legion.
ML also saves all the annoying passing/trading that goes with assigning loot with GL.
Thereâs some ironing to be done for sure. For one, I should be able to roll need on anything I can use, with the addendum that Iâm last in priority if I have a better piece, of any name, but I still donât have to roll greed and roll against the 24 others, many of which will just vendor the piece without getting any other use out of.
I quit taking new players through runs because this happened a lot to me over the entirely of this game. None of those people still play or even continued to play for much longer after getting that drop I wanted. They also didnât care about the item they got.
You got to look out for yourself first when it comes to mount and transmog runs!
I mean, whoâs the fool at this point? How many times are you going to get tricked into thinking a decision Blizz makes is any other reason besides more profit for them. In every way shape and form you not getting gear is good for them, as long as they can extend your playtime for this stupid digital gear.
Oh Iâm perfectly fine with how guild raids run their raids. Thatâs fine.
I just also think that the Raid Finder Tool (not the queued LFR) should have the option of how loot will be distributed before you can try to form a group.
For me, I both hated PL, but understand why itâs in the game. If you didnât play the first weeks of Cata LFR, you might not understand where Iâm coming from.
It was ridiculous.
Thatâs where I am coming from. I was also doing normal raiding at the time. But when I did LFR, it was like everybody and their mother rolling on everything for months and not just for themselves.
Months.
The forums were crazy back then too with these types of debates.
I was here for Cata LFR (Iâve played too long, I need help).
Need/greed in Cata LFR was pure need/greed, not the GL we have now.
Back then anyone could roll need on anything with no protection.
GL only allows rolls on items for your loot spec, and even has separate need (main spec) and need (off spec) which is a very different system then back then.
This is where Iâm confused because I know the first time I walked into LFR this expac, for some reason the system had me rolling as offspec and not my main spec (I made sure I was set to MS before changing going in).
NGL 5% is still significant⌠Every bit helps, doubly so if your not the best player, and Blizzard setting these things up the way they did is just deliberately making gearing harder/worse for everyone.
While you donât view 5% as massive but I view it as something that is genuinely noticeable. With that said Iâm pretty sure Blizzard agrees with my stance on the importance of ensuring players get tier as per blue
I would have preferred them to just make tier be 1 look or to just enable every color at and below the piece you pick up at whatever ilvl if your that against making tier a singular palette but this works too
The mage would have still gotten the tier piece and the outcome would be the same. The bug fix preventing people from getting multiples off the same boss being fixed eliminates the one way in which group loot is fundamentally different from personal loot.
