TBH not really. I have a few rare drops (as I’m sure most people do) but since there is soooo much stuff in the game chances are someone else has it to. And the cool thing about alot of that rare stuff is you can still get it if you work hard - with the Mage Tower skins you can’t - they’re gone.

Nobody here is going to take away your precious Mage Tower forms (if you have them).
Farm the toy should be the only way to have it unlock on the barber shop. I don’t think it should be on the barbershop at all. Its a fun flavor item that you can earn just like any of the mounts that still drop in the game.
Otherwise you have those seeds to pick up or a staff to forever carry.
I’d just be thankful you can still go back and farm this old item, cause those mage tower forms are bye bye
I would 100% make that argument for the few skins we got. I NEVER use the fire cat skin even though i have access to it, and yes i think other people should have it. Its crazy how you people think other people getting the mage tower skin somehow diminishes you.
Strawman argument. I have all the skins and i am arguing for other people to get it. It has nothing to do with completion nor envy. This game doesn’t have enough content for them to artificial lock stuff away as limited-time only.
The toy wasn’t even added to the game until warlords of draenor. It should be attached to having the staff transmog unlocked as someone mentioned above or in one of the other threads, since that was the original way the form was unlocked.
Now that its in the game, and has been since WoD we all have had a lot of time to farm it up.
I don’t think it should be on the barbershop at all and be left to be a toy. Else if it is it 100% removes the toy use and its a wasted item in the game files.
I find little flavor items like those to be a fun eliminated of the game and shouldn’t be removed or handed out. Look at all the secret things they have added over the years, do you want those handed out for free too?
They could add almost any model that uses the cat or bear skeleton. All of the attack animations can be mapped over if they don’t exist for the cat or bear, like ferocious bite has a unique dive animation.
Incorrect. I really couldn’t care less if they made all skins available, I don’t own a Manhattan parking spot. But the fact something was offered for a limited time isn’t a bad thing.
There are things in WoD & MoP I missed out on because of deployments & can’t attain now, but meh, shrug & move on. Just a different way of looking at things.
I personally am indifferent. I ran with my gf’s druid for like a year and a half before she saw it (she’s indifferent about the barber shop unlock too if it were to happen)…it’s whatever.
I think there’s a side that I do agree on where “rare” things should be kept rare, so if it were something like giving Invincible to all players, I think there would be more of an argument. The fact that the appearance can be emulated in other ways (mainly seeds) kind of makes the arguments against unlocking it moot, so yeah…indifferent.
I agree that it’s reasonable to have limited time rewards, but they should be the exception.
Seriously though, anybody can work on getting the toy. If you’re a collector, you’d have done what was necessary to improve your odds of getting it, which is run multiple druids through firelands weekly. This will also help other rare drops for you.
That’s what I did.
Anybody who runs 1 character through a raid or world boss kill each week for a chance at a rare drop doesn’t want it badly.
I have farmed that raid countless times. I have never gotten a staff off fandral with that shapeshift. I don’t think it drops like that anymore.
I would be fine with putting it in the barbershop for those who have earned it, but I hope it also stays as a toy for those of us who earned it. The fire kitty in stealth is somewhat visible in PvP, so I’d want to click it off sometimes.
It still drops, its the one with the spinning claw top. It was the original way to get the fire cat. The toy wasnt added until the first content patch of WoD, years after firelands was current.
People that did the content and earned the fire cat staff when it was difficult deserve to have it unlocked as much as people that have the toy.
With all other cat forms being deterministic iirc, the staff should be the unlock imo. Still a bit random as to whether it drops, but a decent chance.
You could argue owlcat was random, but it had a significantly better chance of happening than the seed pouch.
The pouch drop chance would have to be buffed before I’d consider it a good unlock… but I’m just sour it hasn’t dropped yet with all the runs I’ve done on multiple druids.
Or let it unlock from all points of access… seeds, staff, or toy. Go to the barber, pop one or the other and tada, firekitty.
