Final fantasy 14 has solved player housing

Classic WoW. Which is gigantic in China.

That was a quote from Blizzard PR after Tom said the numbers. They didn’t confirm the numbers. We can infer the interesting Legion was on par with Cata. I’m far more likely to believe Tom accidentally saying this number is more likely the true number, because he has literally no benefit to saying said number. He was happy with the number and said the number. Blizzard PR had to cover for him. It wasn’t confirmed. I’m being honest with the number provided.

Sure. There’s assumptions made.

Do you think that the data shown is valid/real?
Do you think that the graph is misleading the audience of industry experts on purpose?

I’m not arguing we don’t know the full story. I’m working within the context of information that’s available and I’m inferring a conclusion for the sake of discussion about player populations between two separate games for the topic of Systems Engineering.

It’s not that deep.

There was no data lol.

There was nothing to mislead, it was a trend line, nothing more.

You’re inferring a conclusion based off a youtube video and without any actual critical thinking skills lol. No one in their right mind is going to infer sub numbers off a trend line graph with no y-axis. Makes for a nice clickbait video though.

I havent used Bellular’s video once. Like you said, he uses clickbait. For example, “real subscriber count.”

I am not claiming the “real” number. I am speculating with an honest, albeit small, attempt.

The entire solid line overlayed with the dotted line is a representation of “actual” data, per the legend. And a “rolling average” is real data, is it every day, week, month, year? We can see the graph is using seemingly-chaotic curved lines, which means it’s more accurate than the subscriber counts of ye olde. So, it’s probably AT LEAST per week, more likely per-day.

Of course, there’s always a chance John let some employee’s kid scribble the graph with crayon. But that’s unlikely.

It’s a graph generated by real data. Or is Blizzard lying to a room full of industry experts? This isn’t a tough question. However, I’m pretty sure you’d agree the graph is based in reality.

No, you are just using the nonsense number and reducing it down to sound better lol.

Ok, so what was the data? You keep claiming there is data, so what is it? It should be on the graph since you keep saying it exists. A rolling average is a trend line that has an underlying equation to it. Do you know what the equation is?

Also, pretty funny you are still making wild assumptions off of literally nothing lol.

The data we don’t have access to. Also, why do you keep saying “lying?” What has been lied about? There is no data on the graph to lie about lol.

The actual equation? No, no one does. But we can infer the graph uses numbers! Unless you think the data used is the index value of alphanumeric characters used by unique email addresses within the past 10 years, I’m pretty sure it’s the subscriber count as commonly defined.

Rolling averages are almost always based on time. And looking at the graph, the X-axis is based on a form of time.

Sure, let’s use a week for a rolling average. (I’m only using 10 days for this example.)

Let’s say the points of the graph are based on a week.

  • Set1 = SUM:(startingDateID, startingDateID+1, startingDateID+2..., startingDateID+6)/7
  • Set2 = SUM:(startingDateID+3, startingDateID+4, startingDateID+5..., startingDateID+9)/7

This is Set1. Let’s assume the values are {10,1,1,1,1,1,1}. (SUM = 16), Average = 16/7 = 2.286

This is Set2. Let’s assume the values are {1,1,1,1,10,10,10}. (SUM = 34), Average = 34/7 = 4.857

So, our current dataset is 10,1,1,1,1,1,1,10,10,10. SUM=46, COUNT=10, AVG=4.6 MED=1, this would represent “all times” whereas the rolling average is simply an arbitrary set of constrained data.

Using fake data versus using real data. Are the cute lines going up and down based off what they say they are? Or is the data fake?

Don’t be stupid.

Ok, enough said, the rest of that is speculation and not worth looking at.

Who said anything about fake data? There is no data lol.

That’s entire point. I’ve said this multiple times directly to you.

We know the subscriber count is unknown. That’s the fun in it. We can talk and discuss with interested persons.

You’re insufferable to talk with. Find some help.

Uhhh…

Maybe you should actually try and keep up with what you are posting lol.

You win. congrats. You can finally rest easy knowing you won an argument about WoW subscriber counts in 2024.

Goodnight and find some help.

Don’t be mad because you got called out on falling for a stupid youtube video lol.

“No, that’s not valid.”
“No, that’s an assumption.”

I didn’t want an argument. I wanted a conversation. You aren’t giving me a conversation. You’re just annoying.

Cheers mate. Enjoy your night alone on a Friday. Could have had a conversation, but you chose otherwise.

Pretty sure you didn’t want a conversation considering your entire talking points are based on nonsense. You can’t have a conversation when one party doesn’t even want to acknowledge the graph they keep referencing is only a line with nothing on it lol.

Last comment. No TL3, so I’ll ask you to click into it.

No thanks, I don’t click random youtube links.

Let’s try to look at it from another perspective.

Say I had a yearly ‘guess the jellybeans in a jar’ contest and five years ago the winning guess was 725 jellybeans but I said going forward I would no longer divulge the number. Next year I bring in a jar half the size as the year before and the year after that I bring in a jar double the size and the year after that one roughly the same size as the one when I announced the exact number.

Are you telling me we can’t make rough ballpark estimates going off of the information we had before and at least be in the neighborhood of the actual number?

In this case it would be more like having 725 jellybeans 5 years ago and each year after you bring in a suitcase and say there are jars inside but no one can see the jars, you just assume they are in there. The jars are probably in there, and they probably do have jellybeans in them, but they are showing you the suitcase now, not the jars.

they dont want to do it because they dont want to be unfavorably compared to xiv

If this wasn’t in place, people that haven’t played in 10 years (and never will again) would hog that spot from active players.

Surely you thought about this?

Go troll somewhere else, kid.

It is instanced- per plot/ward. I’m assuming you’ve never really played FFXIV.

Not even trolling. I just think you don’t know what you’re saying.
