Fighting for threat

Doesn’t feel good. Let DPS pump and not worry about threat. It’ll be more enjoyable for both party’s.

Double tanks threat out put and don’t change their damage numbers.

“Welcome to Vanilla” is a disingenuous argument. We have era servers for this type of gameplay for tanks & dps.

why dont i just start the phase at max level and in bis gear also with maxed out reps, professions, weapon skills and gold cap?

hell… why do i have to play the game at all… why cant it just play itself for me?

Making threat more of an issue may settle down the toxic parsing culture in SoD currently. Im all for threat mattering.

Sure but it also shuts down the tanks that can’t generate threat as well as Shamans & Warlocks currently.

It can be until a dps gets lucky crits and your taunt resists.

Sounds like dps walking on egg shells to me.

This problem is only going to worsen as we level. We can’t pick a lower rank of our runes.

That’s part of what I find engaging about it. As a DPS I like riding that line instead of just going ham without a care. As a tank, I like being the tank that can manage threat better than the next shlub.

Things don’t usually feel good until you get good at them. Sorry man but expecting entire game mechanic to change because you don’t feel good ain’t reasonable.

If you’re pulling off the tank then either you aren’t giving them a few seconds on pull to establish threat, or your tanks are bad

Or it’s an aoe pull and your tank is a rogue

Who’s expecting the entire game to change? Talking about threat and threat only.

I also think the new tanks need to be toned down and ability pruned when tanking to be more in line with the vanilla tanks. They are miles better then the Vanilla tanks because they barely have any tradeoffs when choosing to tank while the Vanilla tanks have a ton of tradeoffs.

Single target threat appears to be fine, but they gave DPS classes insane AoE damage without giving tanks any way to create AoE threat. It’s dumb.

Mages are doing 600 DPS AoE in their mid-30’s in SM. How are tanks supposed to keep aggro?

I think it’s dumb and boring, but the answer is you don’t. We’re just there to gather mobs for the frost nova and then back away and taunt as needed. We’re not really tanks when mages are involved, we’re basically babysitters for the gnomes lol

How does your argument not support “Just remove tanks and force the boss to attack a moveable totem with high health and armor”
