For crafting, a combination of guildleve and beast tribe and daily turn ins for gc, ixali, and scrips is the best way in my experience.
Honestly, I resubbed for this patch thinking things may have changed after half a year of this terrible expansion, but nope. I was so wrong. It’s been like 3 days and I already regret spending $15.
I am thinking of starting FFXIV just to try it out. It can’t possibly be worse than BFA–the classes feel terrible to play, the story is god awful especially for the Horde, the loot system is no longer rewarding, and the “core system,” as Ion puts it, namely the azerite gear/ warfronts/ expeditions are the worst part about this expansion.
Maybe FFXIV will keep my interest until this summer when Blizzard’s actual MMORPG comes out.
You’re attacking Blizzard over ignoring OCE players, yet the FFXIV devs have stated they have no plans for Oceanic servers. Also, we cannot even pay for FFXIV sub in AUD, we need to pay for it in Euros; Ozgameshop used to have a game time card which made the sub to $15 a month, but they have increased the price to $44.99 AUD for a 60 day game time.
We have no representation with the FFXIV team, lag in every server and FFXIV is the most expensive MMORPG for an Australian player.

The lag is almost non noticeable, so it appears that SE solved a problem.
Japan IS Oceanic. Remember?

Not a problem.

So buy it at the mog station. BTW Square also gives away extra gametime free

We have none in WOW either…whats your point?
, lag in every server and FFXIV is the most expensive MMORPG for an Australian player.
I dont care it costs more.
I am happy to pay more for
Daylight.
Better classes.
Better crafting.
Non gated flight.
Better gameplay
Unpruned abilities.
@Blizzard_ANZ We have a Blizzard office in Sydney and a Twitter account in ANZ, we have representation.
WTF are you on thinking Japan is OCE?! WTF is this? Please learn your geography.
Your reasoning for being an Australian player in FFXIV boggles the mind, your arguements are nonsensical.

Last post by a CM on any issue in the OCE forums (aside from a one liner congratulating someone for a win)
Two years six months.
Night and day : broken and ignored
Calendar :broken and ignored
Boralus at 3pm in the afternoon
FF14 at the same time of day

My geography is fine.
Oceania is a region that can and does include Japan

Are they?
Please see above and tell me which one is better.
In FF14 I dont play in permanent night.
We’ve been discussing FF14 and other MMOs in another post here, if you want to check it out. I’ve got a group going of WoW refugees that have switched over.
Nice vid by Larryzaur, he usually makes comedic videos but this one he goes over each class and its simple and to the point.
Best Job overview video for the game Ive seen in a long time. He just doesn’t cover gathering and crafting.
As a side note its his one character doing each of these Jobs (aka classes) since 1 character can be everything.
Link please?
People usually stick around for the story, the max level gameplay, and the content design.
Gameplay really does pick up the further down the line you get when you get more OGCD abilities. If you don’t enjoy story games, then you’re not gonna have a good time leveling up the first time.
Warning: some spoilers
I love it…the concept comes from an old saying
“Light cannot exist without darkness”.
Brilliant.
I’m thinking of picking FF XIV up again but I haven’t played since Heavensward. Anyone know or think that Square will do a sale on Stormblood before the next expansion drops?
I’d love to get back into it and caught up before then but I’d rather pick up Stormblood cheap if possible. Cheers!
It’s the same themes in wow.
Oh PLEASE
Shadowbringers will rock the house down. The expac is a list of what they are GIVING players, not taking away. The story in FF14 is not the old and hackneyed faction war that no one wanted.
It is better across the board.
WoW’s more solidly grounded in “Light is good, Dark is bad”… while only recently starting to consider the possibility that light is not necessarily a good thing.
Comparatively, FFXIV is diving into the deep end with Shadowbringers.
SPOILERS AHOY!
The player is going to an alternate dimension known as “The First”, where the vast majority of the world is quite literally GONE… literally overcome with the Light.
This actually follows up on a storyline in the Heavensward post-60 content, where you encounter the “Warrior of Darkness” and his merry band… who, incidentally, are from “The First” (if I recall correctly). They played the same role of the player, as the “Warrior of Light”, and drove back the Darkness… but did it so well that the opposite situation happened and now there’s nothing but Light left. There’s actually no nighttime in “The First” anymore, and a few are awaiting the end of the world in decadence.
To quickly divert in the other direction, we also encounter “The World of Darkness” (aka: “The Void”) in the Crystal Tower storyline of ARR… which is a world so overcome with darkness that it’s literally nothing but a black void. Weirdly enough, we also interact with the sole survivor of that world during the Magi Trio questline of Heavensward.
Now, for whatever reason (we’ll find out tomorrow as the final leg of the main story before the expansion drops), WE are going to “The First” and becoming the “Warrior of Darkness” ourselves to drive back the Light. And as a side story (maybe the 8-man raid story, some have theorized), also bring back things like nature and the weather.
… yeah, WoW’s a bit behind the curve on this one.
They just had a sale in the EU, so I’m willing to bet the US will get one soon.
Cool. I’ll have to keep an eye out. Thanks!
I found a pretty cool FC to get into.
I unlocked POTD earlier. Commented on it, just casual chat, and the other members, including ones I gather is near the top of the FC, was “can I get an invite?”
I mean POTD isn’t exactly progression. But its handy for levelling a toon. And its fun.
We did 20 levels and then called it. Had the server not been going down for weekly maintenance I have a feeling we would have done 30 plus levels.
POTD for those not familiar is a sort of a mini game. You get reset to level one, face traps and monsters, and have to find chests which upgrade your armor and weapon. It’s purely optional, but its nice relaxing fun.
And there are decent rewards. I got a pet out of it.
