I call BS.
I criticized Yoshi-P a few times and got permanently banned from their forums. Forum trolls cannot exist when you can’t even question the devs.

It’s that M rating. T rating can only keep a person entertained for so long.
The FFXIV fan boys sure go hard to defend their game on another game’s forum. Kind of funny.
No it does not … it’s worlds apart . Wow leveling is so fast you reach end game in handful of hours . You get abilities quickly . I hate leveling . That’s why I can’t play Classic .FF14 is much worse than even Classic leveling.
And leaving aside questing ,Everything about FF is slow. And someone who is used to a fast paced combat style like WoW will struggle to get used to FF14
It’s become a bit more laxed, honestly. When they announced there would be no Ultimate this tier hooo boy. Granted, most tiptoe around it by slinging insults at each other. The Viera and Hrothgar threads got downright nasty for weeks, and people are still hostile to the devs in that area.
I tend to think that FFXIV is in the Wrath era with their playerbase where the devs can do no wrong and all those who say anything negative must be put down.
I agree it’s really hard to know where the line is because SE has been incredibly hostile to criticism. They don’t seem to be deleting threads and posts about how they seem to refuse to put the money FFXIV generates back into the game. It’s hard to defend when the majority of ShB was recycled. I nearly passed out from laughing when I saw Umbra’s model.
The forums are for players mostly. You can’t talk to devs on there. Most cases they get a new mod/admin and they introduce themselves and you never interact with them again.
The story is the best part of XIV. This rush to endgame mentality really needs to stop.
Most cases players are too busy enjoying the game to q_q on forums.
Especially since some big news is gonna hit XIV in the next 2 days. Detailing more stuff on the new xpac and new job classes.
Healer subforums forever left on Read
I love how OP is writing their post like normal rational people as well as wow team give a damn lol. Play what you like, stop putting others down for your inability to let go of a game to play something else.
You ain’t lying. Healers are in a bad spot. SCH nerf, AST gutting and uncertain future for healers.
Hope they have something planned. Healers not happy.
Yeah when i couldn’t even READ the forums while logged in, i quit.
Yes, if you get banned you can’t even read them. And the post limit per day was sus.
I love game forums, but when devs do stupid crap, you gotta call it. Like, machinists being garbo and being told “git gud” only to have the devs rebalance them because they were garbo.
The new kings of hiring shills to spread bs on another games forums perhaps
It is the game that I may eventually unsub wow to play, if things continue on their current course, mind you, even if it does come to that and I do end up unsubbing, I would like to say this, that I am glad that Blizzard is finally taking a stance against people saying racial slurs and whatnot and hope this improves the community.
Mind you, there’s some people that still seem to think that if they ban people from saying the N word, they are tiptoeing towards outright communism/socialism and whatnot.
Clearly, you have a different opinion, and that’s OK. Personally, leveling is my favorite part of the game, and I hate that Blizzard has reduced it to a handful of hours. The fact that I can play FFXIV for months without hitting the level cap on any single class (because I’m leveling all the classes, including crafting and professions, at once) is a big plus, in my book.
It gets much faster and more complex at higher levels. Positionals in WoW are so simplistic that you never even hear the term thrown around. Spamming the same three button sequence for thirty levels as a rogue may be boring, but by the time you hit level 50 as a ninja, hitting your positionals and ensuring that you’re weaving in the optimal mudras makes the combat feel way faster.
I love it when WoW players get a stack marker and get the hell out of dodge. And then die.
It’s beautiful, sad and hilarious all at the same time.
And to elaborate, if you got latency issues, don’t play ninja.
I found that out the hard way.
yeah buddy I feel yah on the slow leveling and stuff but you are definitely wrong about the combat in the endgame, they have a lot of stuff going on for rotations and situational buttons and off gcd stuff. I thought the exact same as you until I finally reached the end and played it with the full arsenal. It is more like MoP than the current slands with all the pruning.
and you can buy boosts if you want to skip leveling, it is like $25 - much cheaper than wow
I mean, in WoW, if you got latency issues don’t play period. No one is going to want to run M+ or raids with your latency, and the game doesn’t offer much else at this time.
I raid heroic with 270ms average on an Aussie server from Sweden with no issues. /shrugs
In 14, i needed a tunnel to play NIN from LA to the datacenter in Quebec because the routing due to their DDOS protection was AWFUL.
Still use that tunnel to this day. Wtfast ftw. 100 bucks a year well spent.
The Eden’s Gate raids were quite difficult, I’d say they are on par with Mythic raids. But the main issue with them is it’s mostly movement base. Gotta step here, go here, stand here. One inch off and the whole fight is doomed. They had mechanics…that was 99% movement base.
I don’t know I could count the bosses that I see as Mythic worthy. Kefka and Eden’s Shiva come to mind. The whole allure of Savage is that they are puggable for that reason. You know the dance and can hit your keys, you can clear.
Reason I liked encounters like Seat of Sacrifice, like an extreme and not savage, where others seemed to hate was that level of rngness that made the fight feel a little different, and rewarded adaptation.
