I just resubbed to wow only to see the story. leaving as soon as im done

I do agree. Much like the reason trade chat is used for general chat.
It looks pretty cool and I just watched it, I might give it a try.
However I wouldn’t put their cinematic trailer on the same level as WOWs. Blizzard just does it better in that department in my opinion.
Spoiler alert, it’s Blizzard. Blizzard was a real WoW killer all along.
Then why are you here? For the attention? To feel smug? Exactly why are you hear when FF is so wonderful?
Pretty much this.
I mean I’ve always said the only thing that will kill WoW is WoW.
I dont know why – realistically the Fanfest showed about nothing really new to the game except new Jobs with no actual indications into the kits.
Nothing was shown for Island Sanctuaries, Ishgard housing, etc – the new stuff that would be interesting.
Are the FF14 forums as dead as their game that FF players have to come to WoW forums to gin up news ?
Theyre too busy arguing if male viera should be tall or be manlets (no joke).
Their forums are a dreadful bore when compared to the wildness of GD.
Unless you own a house – then you are forced to actively log in or you lose your investment.
I remember I wanted to try FF before I came back to WoW and I legitimately spent about 1 hour on their website trying to figure out how to setup an account and use their free trial account. I couldn’t figure it out so I gave up.
Their website at the time looked like it was some early-mid 2000s MMO. Even their forums gave me old school phpbb forum vibes.
i watched the trailer, and the girl and the dude elf looked/sounded the exact same.
anime lmfao
Not really. Every time I wipe in an FFXIV pug, no one complains, and everyone sticks it out. Someone in the know chimes in with the info needed to avoid a wipe, and we succeed on the second pull. In contrast, I remember my last WoW PUG. The run was moderately successful at first, but the tank was still pissing and moaning all the way through it because the healer was busy healing all the DPS who had pulled aggro in the back while he ran ahead and out of LOS. When we got to the gauntlet, he couldn’t hold aggro (I don’t know how you can’t hold aggro in this day and age), and he was still the one complaining. We finally killed the last boss and missed the timer by literally 10 seconds. If he’d spent less time complaining and more time doing his job, it would have been an easy win. If this had been a one off experience, I would have let it go, but it was fairly consistent with my modern day casual pugging experiences in WoW. I just don’t have the patience for that. I’ll stick with FFXIV and its commendation system. I’d rather feel mildly disappointed at collecting only 2/3 commendations as opposed to being thoroughly demoralized at having wasted a half hour of my free time with a whining crybaby.
I can’t wait. New classes to max out too!
Yeah… I reactived my account
Why is Blizzard doing this to me…
Haven’t played it in a while. It was different from WoW but not bad. I enjoyed my time playing it.
As long as the moolah rolls in, they (Blizzard) see no competition. Its the players here that are scuuured of ANY competition.
Especially one that’s growing.
Which the salt is funny considering that we as WoW players have mocked and shizzed on every game that wasn’t us for years. It worked when we’re 8 to 12 million stong. stong. It doesnt now.
Just keep in mind that you need to play FFXIV as FFXIV, not as WoW. Any WoW convert that comes over expecting their experience to be replicated will be disappointed. For all their similarities, they do have some fundamental differences.
The most glaring is the lack of focus on the endgame loot treadmill grind. If you want to do that type of content, WoW is and will always be king. Games like FFXIV and ESO have found success because they’re not trying to beat WoW at their own game. The problem is that WoW is so hyperfocused on the loot treadmill that its players can’t imagine an MMO structured any differently.
