I can’t deny it anymore. I feel the pull of XIV and it is strong… The new class, the new zones, that incredible Fan Fest I just watched.
I think I am finished with Shadowlands. 9.1 just isn’t enough. Anyone else feel the same?

They key to enjoying it is not skipping any quest text from the MSQ. I know how hard it is for WoW players to not skip the quest text.
Also treat the story like a single player RPG until you need to do a dungeon to progress it.

If you can enjoy it have fun because I certainly can’t. No east coast servers so I have to play with absurd latency, the 5 year long GCD, paying monthly to play a single player RPG… People love to make the claim “Well hurr you have to play more than 50 hours that’s when it gets good and then you can have an opinion!!!” and they always push the goal post back to 100 and so forth.
To me the story in the game is a joke and doesn’t come close to actual Final Fantasy titles and if you want to play endgame content you’re forced to play 400+ hours of uninteresting story content before you can get there. I’ve gotten to about the halfway point in Stormblood before stopping because the leveling and questing experience in that game is worse than Classic.

No it doesn’t. It’s still the same god awful art style that makes it a non starter and filled with even more grinding and repeating the same content on various difficulties as WoW

Well I hadn’t heard they had a new expansion coming so I appreciate the topic.
Competition is supposed to be good, but Blizzard would actually have to care for them to feel the need to innovate.

It didn’t used to be like that, before the pandemic…before the dark times of ex-wow players flooding the game…
The only thing that could even potentially put a dent in WoW other than Wow destroying itself is the League MMO and they’ve barely even said anything about it. WoW right now is in probably one of the worst states that the game as been in and it’s still more enjoyable to play than FFXIV.
Guild Wars, Star Wars, Elders Scrolls… Every one of those games is on life support. What else is there? The Amazon game that is failing at every step along the way and Ashes of Creation which looks like a total meme.
