This is actually a problem with many new games. Prospective players try it out with the idea of “WoW 2.0” and when the game is different, and not as comfortable to them as WoW is (due to playing it and only it for so long), they don’t give it a fair shake.

Exactly, and it kills a lot of the fun for them and they never recognize that you have to play every new game with a blank mindset.
Weeb is defined as:
“A weeb is a derisive term for a non-Japanese person who is so obsessed with Japanese culture that they wish they were actually Japanese.”
I guess some of the WoW players are “weebs”.

They’re just one of the people that can’t accept that WoW won’t always be the best MMO. WoW may very well turn things around and go on for a very long time, but eventually it’ll be surpassed. Eventually some new game is going to come up and going to knock the old game out.
I would say it more like
“It has weeb things in it, but it’s not a weeb game.”
Because I have 2 monitors and can play FFXIV on one screen and have the wow forums up on the other.
I mean, people like the OP are definitely trolls. There are a good number of trolls who make FFXIV threads here because it’s easy click bait, but the FFXIV community doesn’t want to take down WoW. It’s better for both games if WoW is good.

No, when people call it a weeb game, they are trying to insult it and the people who play it, usually as some weird justification for why they “won’t ever play it.”

I played WoW for 20 mins once I just killed some boars and only had ONE ability,
Game play is sooo slow
No cool gear
No story it was just let me kill the boar
Honestly the graphics are pretty outdated too I don’t see why people play this game

Yep, I myself had this issue a lot - even with FFXIV in ARR when I first tried it. But I had friends there, was in a WoW slump, and I gave it a shot. It was actually a really fun game, even back then.
Though I’m still kind of stuck there… since I’m playing TBCC almost purely based off nostalgia at this point.
True, but I also refer to the anime-esque protagonists overcoming trope, and the pretty flashy stuff that happens.
Which WoW does to death in far worse writing. Just look at the end of BFA, the cinematic was like a weaker DBZ.
One of the big turn offs for me was the look of the game. Asian-style graphics dont appeal to me at all (and I have played other games but WoW so Im not saying Im locked in to one style). I just dont feel…comfortable I guess…with the very pretty ‘fairy’ look of the character design , and I didnt think the environmental graphics were all that great either. I mean, WoW is nothing to cheer about in its early expansions, I get that, but its purely a matter of taste for me.
I must admit, Blizzard could learn from certain aspects of its professions (although I could do without having to change clothes and equip gathering, creative tools all the time which is sort of odd imo).

TBH at this point I would believe it if someone told me no playerbase was as toxic as wow’s but I meant the people who left WoW to play FFXIV, Those toxic people. I was hoping they would stay over there longer.

To be fair, people who refuse to let their ‘toxic’ behavior from wow go when they try FFXIV more than likely get banned very quickly.
