and? Blizzard’s opinion is not relevant when regarding the opinions of the consumer on the outside looking in
I love people talking smack about FF14 stream numbers.
Like 9.1 just came out meanwhile 14 is in between a dead cycle waiting for the next expansion lol.
Who will we consider relevant when considering an opinion?
The opinion of a company handling millions of subs or the opinions of you and me, random nobodies no better than keyboard warriors on a forum?
wow players are in such a bubble they think wow is the only good mmo in existence
but really it’s more like apple fans they overpaid for an inferior os for a brand name turd
that’s how i feel about wow right now
Check out the mobile MMOs out there. In terms of graphics it looks like a mobile game, especially the environments.
True wow fans are scared to play other games in fear they might enjoy them
Maybe turn your graphics up then cause I’ve played a lot of mobile mmos and FF looks way better than any of them.
Keep in mind that openly hating on Blizzard / WoW is cool right now. FF14 actively suppresses any and all criticism (including constructive criticism). You don’t see people writing about the bad stuff (as there are many issues with FF14 as well) because those people are actively hunted down and silenced.
FF stream numbers are only that high because people with large viewer bases are trying it out.
Usual numbers are around 5-7k total.
I watch a lot of FF on stream as well, and this may actually be HURTING full time FF streamers.
500% false.
I’m a WoW defender (not the Blizzard shill) against other games but I have FF 14 purchased and I play it.
the raw numbers
WoW may have over 4 million subscribers, but those subscribers are split between two different games. it’s unfair to compare FF14, a single game, to Retail and Classic, two different games, in that manner, because there’s no way of knowing how many of those numbers play, and thus are interested in, both of those games
You’re basically saying “People like Chocolate more than Vanilla because Chocolate and Rocky Road together have more fans than Vanilla by itself”
Fair enough. I can agree with that.
I apologize for not being on point.
I actually play many MMOs.
WoW is my favorite, but I play FF a lot, SWTOR, some ESO when I forget about the combat, played a lot of wildstar, going to play AoC if actually comes out.
Forums aren’t low they have lodestone that’s pretty good the reason there forums look dead everyone is playing instead of complaining.
Yeah it seems like they’re one of these extreme FF 14 toxic fans who wanted to randomly spout nonsense.
K, then by that logic the opposite is true that the discontent we see amongst WoW streamers had a material impact on player count…because to your point there must be some correlation between popularity/sub counts and streamers…
So Asmon and Bellular playing FFXIV is a huge step in the wrong direction for Blizz and for this games popularity and sub counts…to your point…
This is actually quite true. It’s obvious a lot of players only play WoW, which is why it’s so difficult for them to move on and the reason they’d rather stick around playing a game they dislike. I get that many of them have strong attachment to the game, so they’d like to see it improved in a way that reignites their love for the series, but for others it sounds like they are struggling to kick an addiction.
If anything I hope FF helps these players find a purpose outside of WoW.
this is a total lie
I’ve heard quite a bit of criticism about the game from actual players but you don’t see it on the forums or Reddit because they are removed instantly.
Maybe because not everyone streams? Also xiv just isn’t a game that’s super fun to watch so not a lot of people watch others stream it because they’re idk actually playing it? The forums are dead because people are more active on things like reddit and discord and their forums are a pita to use tbh.
But if you actually go in both games I see far more people in game in xiv than I do in wow these days.
WoW doesn’t need to worry about xiv anyway, the only thing wow has to worry about is itself like people have been saying for years. If you say it can’t be compared and it seems like it annoys you that people do compare them, why did you make a thread comparing the two based on viewership anyway?
