I know, logic has no place here. And the devs never try to pull the wool over our eyes. Never.
commissions and “look at this thing i did/won/finished!” it’s used like a friggin blog, i’m tired of it
oh yeah and “i’m a new player and WoW refugee and just wanted to say i love the game!” posted about 30 times a day. great, we get it
This is assuming the wow reddit was not “HEY GAIS GUESS WHAT LOOK AT MY SPECIAL NEW TATTOO I GOT ON MY BACKSIDE AND ON MY CAKE AND ON THE BUMPER OF MY CAR!”
I absolutely agree. Progression in WoW is tied to more so to luck than actual skill and that’s just sad.
WoW is doing a good job of slowly killing itself.
Yes exactly. It’s a wow subscription in a list of subscriber numbers.
And none, these are unique logins per the API. It’s possible some of these are multiboxxers and such but a sub is a sub.
Eh, wow doesn’t need reddit.
Main forums, mmo-champ, wowhead, enough places already for all the negativity.
FF really only has reddit.
Everything can be explained in the Universe by math or numbers. Every action, decision, everything. Whether or not there is an expansion after SL is based on numbers. Cost, overhead, salaries, majority share holders. In the end all numbers.
The numbers aren’t good for WoW and many metrics trending in a catastrophic direction which causes companies to make decisions. Look at WoD where they had a lot of planned content then cancelled it because of well…numbers.
Numbers are very telling, they are important information and there is no denying many of the recent numbers. SL isn’t going to end very well.
if you pay $15 you are considered a WoW player. Not a retail or classic player according to subscriber counts.
Too bad so sad if you think you’re special enough to be in Classic or Retail. You’re just yet another player who’s part of WoW.
You have a strange definition of low:
I’d say they’re comparable in terms of viewership at this moment. Besides, viewers are not players. I guarantee that there are far more people who watch boxing than people who actually do it. Also, keep in mind that this is days after WoW released a new raid tier, and it barely has more viewers than FFXIV.
Because that’s what society has done to most. More numbers, means you’re more successful, according to people who only care about numbers. Most people forget the Human side to those numbers.
Hmm. Nice! For some reason whenever I look it hasn’t been like this! At the time of posting this it was like sub 5k or something. But very cool to see.
I know everyone is like “blah blah streams don’t mean anything!” But … I think it’s a sign of healthiness and interest amongst the general public for something to be popular on twitch/yt.
3 wow streamers playing FF getting 15k, 11k, and 7k of that then the top FF streamer at 700.
I wonder if there’s any ff streamer seeing a decline as people flock to the wow streamers playing ff.
Oh lol >_< okay there we go
People are just excited about FF cause it’s new to most people. In the long run they’ll be back or they’ll move on from FF.
Personally I think FF looks like a mobile game. Can’t stand the art style. Looks plain/ugly compared to WoW.
context is key. the point of these numbers is to pinpoint which is more “popular”. if someone is playing Classic and not Retail, or Retail and not Classic, then what relevance does their sub have to the game they aren’t playing?
There’s a lot you can say about FF, but looking like a mobile game is not one I thought I’d ever hear.
Zero context. Everyone who plays WoW plays WoW.
Just because you quit Retail, Blizzard doesn’t give a damn as long you keep paying $15 per month since you are but one of the same subscribers according to them.
who are you talking to? I’m literally logged into my goblin warrior spamming dungeons right now
It’s a general analogy.
If you’re playing Retail or Classic, you’re the same to Blizzard.
