Ff14 just sign their own death warrant, wow is king!

Don’t worry I’m sure the co president won’t charge you too much to join his paid carry service bc if your loyalty… I can respect your hustle and what your trying to do tho.

People who think this won’t result in a huge influx of players leaving FF14 are in denial.

I’m against threads like this, but in this specific case, it’s very much applicable.

Making raid boosting a perma bannable offense will chase off their raiders, as that’s how they fund raiding.

The fact they did this RIGHT BEFORE a WoW patch just makes it much more likely.

Lol the WoW community constantly thinking other communities are like them…… just not true.

The relevant section from FF14’s list of prohibited acts:

I don’t see anything wrong with this.

This level of copium is just sad to witness.

It is like the war on drugs it can’t be won.

Yep. Best you can get is make it funny to watch.

Some say eve is pay to win. Here is what you win…your ship blown up probably from lack of skill at that game. And people who play the game to make their isk laughing at them.

I know that is one of the joys the gank. Dropping really costly ships using nothing but whatever common items you had in the hangar. Fly better than the other guy…their ships go boom not yours.

ON;y time I splurged was in wormholes. Because if you weren’t making billions a month in a wormhole…you were doing something very wrong. very very very wrong.

Was it even a problem in FF14? The way loot is structured, boosting isn’t much of a gain. I almost feel like they’re doing it to troll WoW.

Wow so they want people to actually play the game how dare they… Makes me want to go play that game now!

NGL. First thing I think of when people flaunt their aotc or ce is…that’s cool. How much you pay for that?

And it’s pretty much accurate when there’s a mount involved. Hell, some people are happy to dump 150k each tier just for the acheivment in and of itself.

It’s almost like yoshi p respects his player base and just bans RMT instead of creating a token so they get a big piece of the pie…. It’s a wierd concept here I know.

Raiding straight up isn’t as expensive in that game. Materials are easy to get, gear is easier to get. I guess the most serious prolly put in a lot to get crafted gear at the start of each season, but even then they could prolly just make it themselves easily enough. Actual looted gear is time and game currency based, so you pick it up on your own and always know where your next upgrade is. Things like potions and food are a little time consuming to make, but the ingredients to make them are easier to gather and obtain than in WoW.

On the party finder, which is what they changed, there were mostly gold sellers selling runs. It wasn’t a lot of players selling runs.

Edit: Ack! Sorry! I was reading the rest of the posts here, and my sleepy brain read that with as a without (fund raids WITHOUT carries). My dumb. I leave post up as proof of lack of reading comprehension.

I like this fellow. He’s nice in every thread he posts in.

Good for them. I highly doubt FF14 players even care about that.

To be fair, they saw what wow did with their party finder and did the opposite.

Re; Wow is king \o/

This thread still holds more content than patch 6.1

Epic response my dude

you are speaking for everyone? businesses don’t provide services no matter what unless there is a demand for them - it costs them programming time and space in the shop so yes there is a cost.

yes, EVERYTHING should be free. why pay anything to anyone. games should always be free~~~ :money_with_wings:

idk what the competitive nature is over in FF14 or what player related transactions of in game currency is needed to facilitate but perhaps the exchange is small enough that it would just be easier for them to turn off the ability to trade it at all.

perhaps things like the AH could facilitate everything (assuming it has one)

wow on the other hand wouldn’t easily be able to cover such a change. the economy relies on the gold exchange.

imagine what happens if raids can’t recouped losses and expenses? everyone leaves or goes to farming gold. the pvp side may be better but then RMT would prob increase with no way to prove it.

tipping gold for portals and such wouldn’t be a thing and there would be no reason to go out of ones way to help.

FF14 prob has such a state of expectation already that a in game currency exchange isn’t how the game normally functions. but i could be wrong.
