Don’t you mean it puts WoW to glory? Remember that esoterically, WoW’s legacy is the grandest of all MMORPGs. Many others’ legacies are legacies of ashes by comparison.
Nope I was not just being funny with that 9 out of 10…
But to say wow is not a big thing in the east is honestly wrong China has a decent population
Now Japan and other then China then yea
Seriously beg to differ.
WoW is just the most accessible and easy to pick up.
EQ destroys WoW in quality MMO design.
That i would agree with
You’re way more hardcore than me to say that, since I’m a filthy casual. But I like to think WoW broke through barriers that EQ never cared to.
WoW’s entire design was accessibility to maximize profit.
Similar to what Riot did for League. DOTA is the far superior game but the barrier to entry is HUGE. That’s how most MMOs were before WoW as well.
Yes and no wow was billed as the easy mmo…
Wow just got lucky right time and place…
And EQ pop expansions was garbage that did not help it
Yeah, I actually didnt like all the people just crammed into the space and the noise from all the craft/music/emote. It kind of bugged me a lot.
Sounds like Animal crossing with Michael Jackson mannequin skins.
I’ll be blunt. Most adults are not privileged to have what it takes to be something serious in EQ. I know I wasn’t. But at the same time, I can acknowledge EQ being better with the pretense that I would have never belonged in the genre and simply accept the statement at face value. However, it is a known fact that the mode of MMORPGs is becoming F2P in the longterm. I can tell a MMO is great by how long it sustains a paid sub model.
This and how well they do after going FTP.
ESO/GW2 actually grew after going FTP.
post count, lol. your life revolves around such meaningless things. good stuff.
you also miss the point entirely and probably didn’t even read what i posted. you can literally say hello to someone, and that person can say they are offended. go do some research and you’ll see that warnings NEVER drop off your account, and people are terrified to speak. sounds pretty toxic to me
you can kick someone from a group for not playing their role, and be found to be the party at fault. ah, i know your political leaning without even asking, you little cretin
WoW was about 10 years ahead of its time when it launched and it rode off the popularity of Warcraft 3 which was a huge game back then. Easily accessible and had controls that played like a FPS game without punishing death mechanics. I don’t know why back then, but all those korean MMOs I played made you drop stuff when you died so you had to run all the way back and hope nobody stole your stuff.
Word on the street is that ESO is quite buggy and GW2 mainly just sticks to PvP, as a one-ride theme park sort of thing.
Saying hello does not get you banned. Being rude in chat can. People just need to learn how to talk to each other online.
FFXIV might have fewer players than WoW, and be at the end of its current expac., but the game’s design makes everything you do in that game feel alive as you level.
WoW has a problem with shelving all of the content that isn’t the brand new toy. For such a big game, it always feels so empty unless you’re in the designated area.
No, its a three strikes rule.
They do investigate reports and won’t put a mark on your account if it’s frivolous.
The only people who get banned are those who should have been already.
Funny…this is my main and I’ve been enjoying the heck out of FF14. I only bought the base game a little over a week ago but I’m relaxing and having fun just leveling and even going through quests that are lower than my current level. I still have my WoW sub active because I wanted to finish playing through the current story campaign but when that finishes? Honestly I’m not sure I won’t let it lapse until the next patch (whenever that will be as things stand now).
WoW could learn a lot from FF14 in terms of making questing fun rather than a boring slog, having professions actually matter, character customization, housing, etc…playing it actually feels fun and investing…whereas wow currently feels like a chore, habit, or obligation…not something I’m excited to do.
Both of those are drastically incorrect lol.
ESO has bugs sure, but so does every mmo. You probably heard about the animation canceling in combat which isn’t a bug, it’s designed.
GW2 have so much more to do than PvP actually. Fractals, raids, strikes, meta events. It’s constantly busy.
