It takes less than an hour to get 3 pets to do the step. You can follow along with any youtuber you like. You have guides to tell you step-by-step what to do.

I’ve never done pet battles ever until this step
It took 15min to get 3 secret pets (wicker pup and the secret pig take literally 5min and are beside each other). And if you’re really lazy, you can buy 3 secret pets on the AH, fully leveled up
30min to level all to 25 / upgrade to rare
5min to kill the boss.
How was this so hard for you.
Also, secrets are not meant to be quick and easy. This is optional content that rewards the dedicated.

I hate when Blizz includes pet battles in anything. Terrible.
Have never done battle pets in my life . Trying to win this sucks for me. I had 3 level 3 Garrisons so getting my secret pets to 25 was easy. I have Spyrogos, terky, and the pup as my pets but still can’t win to get that 5th orb.
If you are going to include pet battle, there was a damn necessity to use only a specif list of pets? like for real?

No, they literally didn’t.
They’re secret pets.
They even let you join a party to have others help you get credit if you are THAT against pet battles.
Grow up.

I don’t care about pets but I still had 3 of the secret pets in my journal, and I had 3 level 25 ultimate battle stones in my warbank from who knows when… Legion world quests? Took me about 30 minutes of struggling through the Feasel fight to defeat him; frustrating but not a big deal.

Not only do they need to be specific pets, the fight doesn’t scale so they have to be level 25 pets too.
It’s not the pet battle that has put a hard brake on this mount for me - its the Perky Pig outfit that costs 25k gold.
Can I afford it? Sure, but I am currently saving my gold towards purchasing a token for adding to my sub as its a financially tight time of year for me. I’d rather not spend that much on a stupid pet outfit along with all the other things that have to be done to get the mount.
I don’t mind at all if getting something requires gameplay, that adds to the content which is good. But also expecting me to cough up gold on top of devoting my playing time…naah. I have over 500 mounts, I won’t shed a tear if I don’t get one more.
You’d be complaining if you had to do PVP to get the mount
pet battles are a niche of a niche just like pvp, weird to make people do it for a riddle mount

i can endure needing to have a 25 lv pet, what i cant fathom is the need of SPECIFIC pets, and why we cant just use anything.
Maybe the dude though it was clever/cool and didnt realize how frustrating this can be.
Honestly, this looks like a beginner DM trying to make a dungeon full of puzzles, for the person doing the puzzles, it might look simple, logical and easy, but that is because he knows then, its not the case for the players

Spent the day getting Nethara and Wicker Pup. I had a green Bumbles at 25.
Leveled the other 2 to 25. Did some WQ for charms to turn them Blue rare quality. And did it

My point was needing level 25 pets means actively engaging with the battle/leveling side of pets which a lot of players dont want to do, whereas if you just need to collect them without needing to also level them there would be less complaints.
There would still be complaints because it requires specific ones, some of which are pain to get, but at least you could avoid an aspect of the game you dont find fun/interesting.
We still have the why are PVEers in my PVP content debate/complaints every time children’s week rolls around.
if you happen to have the yipp-sauron costume which you could buy during hallows end, you don’t need this, but if you don’t have it you gotta buy this one.
